Appointment was for AC tune up/ inspection. After two hours they presented a list of numerous parts my AC needs and told me that my AC is not to code, giving numerous reasons. This is totally irrelevant as I am not remodeling or doing construction. It was within code when installed and the inspection is on file with city hall. I told them I would speak with my husband about the recommendations. Then almost as an afterthought on their way out, told me they had red flagged my furnace and shut off the gas, said they decided it is unsafe to operate and showed me some photos they had taken of the heat exchanger. I told Airtech that our furnace is on service plan through Homesmart by Xcel Energy and would contact them. They talked poorly of and berated Homesmart, trying to persuade me to sign up for their service plan and purchase a furnace through Airtech. I find this very unprofessional. I called Xcel Energy Homesmart immediately after Airtech left. Xcel's tech came and did a full inspection of the furnace and declared that the furnace is indeed safe to operate and started it up. Airtech's inspection took over two hours of my time, resulted in unnecessary stress, and forced an emergency follow up appointment, taking more of my time, to have my furnace reinspected and gas turned back on. All under the guise that they are protecting my safety. I asked Airtech to email the detailed write up of the inspection to me. I received an email but the link provided opens to a blank page. I asked for them to resend and received nothing. The whole experience stinks of a big scam to generate sales.
