I completed the diagnostic service and found the system is low on charge. I performed a leak search and found a leak in the evaporator coil. I showed the customer where the leak was. I sent the customer a quote for repair.
I completed a diagnostic on a Carrier Air Conditioner. I determined that the wiring needed fixed going from the furnace to the condenser for the ac to be able to run. Charged system and fixed the wiring issue. System was operational at time of departure.
I found that the 2008 Tempstar furnace is getting voltage in the proper places but the inducer motor is locked up. Furnace also has a lot of rust in the cabinet. Customer has opted to replace the inducer motor at this time.
Upon arrival customer stated the furnace only comes on and runs a couple times a day and does not keep the house warm. We as a company recently came out and found the pressure switch was tripped due to a dirty drain trap. Everything was running at departure. Today, found the same code, pressure switch failed to open or respond. Checked vacuum at switch, switch closes at 1.40”wc, vacuum at switch is 1.53”wc before the system ignites. Ran a combustion test on the furnace and checked the gas pressures, found the CO in the flue reached 1000 ppm before the pressure switch tripped. Adjusted gas pressures from 3.8 to 3.3, CO is now 900 ppm before the pressure switch trips. Checked the exhaust pipes, both pipes are free of debris, noticed both are bellow the snow level but they are not blocked at this time.
Customer stated furnace would blow air but not warm. Found furnace locked out on code 3. Pressure switch failure to close. Found trap clog causing water to back up in inducer and not allow for proper vacuum. Cleared trap and cycled system multiple times. Furnace running properly
