I was called to a home in the suburbs to perform a routine maintenance check on a Burnham K2 natural gas, hot water boiler with indirect water heater. The boiler was installed in 1999 and had not been serviced in over 10 years. During the maintenance check, I found that the boiler was in need of a new pressure relief valve and a new gas valve. I also noticed that the boiler's heat exchanger was leaking, which could cause the boiler to fail. I replaced the pressure relief valve and gas valve and repaired the heat exchanger. I also performed a thorough cleaning of the boiler and checked all of the electrical connections. After the maintenance check, the homeowner was happy to know that their boiler was in good working condition and that they would not have to worry about it failing in the near future. I also provided the homeowner with a maintenance checklist and a list of recommended maintenance items for their boiler. I encouraged the homeowner to follow the checklist and to schedu
