Wonderful person came to help?

I really had NO idea how expensive plumbing could be. Ben was GREAT about explaining what options I had, and the costs could be. He also pointed out some work that needs to be done in the future. I did have to wait almost a week for an appointment.

Not what you expect

They have unit pricing. If you only need a leaky valve fixed they charge for a full reinstallation. 2 hrs or 6 all the same price. I get the knowledge thing, but all I needed was a new saddle clamp for the ice maker installed that was leaking. I was quoted for $500.00. I reluctantly paid the $65 service call for a 2 hr job in my mind and I sent them on their way. For the $500 I can afford to take the day off, fix it and still save money.

Annual Service

I appreciated that during the annual service, a great amount of time was spent determining the source of a noise. This is a new house, and apparently, the fresh-air intake system is not sufficient and the velocity of air needed through an imperfect intake size is causing the noise. CPI was not responsible for the product or installation from the home builder, but provided solutions to make the situation better.

Arrived on site. Customer complaint of tankless water heater turning on and off consistently and not heating. Provided options to conduct a tankless water heater diagnostic. Noted the noritz always hot unit does not have a combustion air intake vent attached to it. The vent has been stubbed off in the attic on the concentric venting kit. Measured the cubic foot area of the garage. 6900 cubic foot garage. Required free area to allow both pieces of equipment (80% furnace and tankless water heater) to breathe properly is 14,445. Unable to test the flame sensor due to one of the screws holding in the locking mechanism being stripped. Confirmed the air intake filter was free of dust and debris. Checked inlet gas pressure while the unit was running, measured 8.02 inches of water column which is inside the upper limit of 10.0. Removed inlet screens for the cold side and recirc lines. Both filters are clear from debris. When putting the cold inlet filter back in, it will no longer seal. The o

I started with a full tankless diagnostics , checking everything from its power source and all of the internal components while turned on and turned off, also checking the water supply to the unit and the temp that the water was getting up to. What i found was that the electric tankless water heater was operating correctly. Since it wasn’t the tankless causing the low water flow I started looking in to the water pipes and fittings after the tankless. What I found was a bunch of debris built up in a gate valve that was between the pex pipe and the tankless flex supplies. I cut this valve open and installed a full port ball-valve so that debris can not ever build up again at this point and also cleaned up the bent pex water pipes.

Arrived onsite due to customer complaint of there boiler system not working properly. Upon arrival we found both boilers to not be functioning properly with no flame inside the unit. Swapped out both low water cutoff’s for Boiler #1 and Boiler #2. Boiler #1 was firing and working properly when we left. Boiler #2 is still currently having intermittent issues with the control board and aqua stat, which is causing the boiler not to fire and work properly. Pricing will be worked up to replaced either the control or aqua stat. CPI still needs to replace the boiler gauge on boiler #2 when we return.

Confirmed with customer that one downspout drain was not draining. Removed dirt and roots by hand before using hydro jet through downspout drain. Was unable to get completely through drain line. Used hydro jet from drain on the road back towards downspout drain at house. Ran water for 15 minutes without any water backing up verifying line is now open and draining. Customer has no heat from the Rinnai tankless water heater. I cleaned the cold inlet filter and got the heater to produce hot water but only for 8 seconds. Error code 31 is displayed. Burner sensor wire has been chewed through by rodents. Spoke with customer about signs of mice nesting inside and above the Rinnai. Need to order a new burner sensor and schedule a day to replace the old one. Thank you for choosing CPI!

Customers tub drain had become disconnected. They had an inspector check the crawl space and take pictures for them. I used an ABS trap adapter to secure the trap onto the brass tail piece. Also used plumbers tape to secure the trap and ensure it would not fall again. Tested out by running water down the drain. No signs of leaks. Thank you for choosing CPI!

Josh notes 12-6-2020 I inspected the toilet emergency shut off valve for the master bathroom toilet that was installed on Friday. The valve has a constant drip that was going into the wall and dripping through the light fixture above the couch. I called Pure Dry and set up an appointment between 1:30 and 2:30. I shut down the water to the home and removed the dual emergency valve. The copper tubing was damaged and a new compression emergency shut off valve will not fit on the existing copper. I cut out the damaged copper tubing and installed a new single emergency shut off valve. We turned the water back on to the home and tested the new valve. The valve is now leak free and in great working condition. I installed a new supply line and chrome plated escutcheon. Mitigation performed by Puredry Restoration performed by MJ Services Job completion on 12-23-2020 by Oly. Performed reinstallation of existing toilet. Flushed 12 times with no leaks or issues. Confirmed with customer that toilet is leaking that we previously installed from tank to bowl connection. Turned water off at toilet shutoff valve and removed tank. Arrived onsite to perform a deep cleaning on both of the boilers heat exchangers as well as replace two faulty flame roll out switches. Cleaned the heat exchanger. Swapped out the two flame rolls outs. Confirmed operation of the boilers. Low water cut off on boiler number 1’s led’s do not work. Boiler number 2’s low water cut off goes into lockout occasionally, this is a sign that the low water sensor is getting gunked up. Recommend replacement for that low water cut off. Arrived on site. Customer complaint of leaking waste piping under kitchen sink. Provided options to replace under sink waste piping and basket strainers. Removed existing under sink waste piping. Provided and installed new under sink waste piping. Ran water into both sinks and checked for leaks. No leaks were identified. Filled both sinks with hot water and dumped both sinks multiple times with the tenant present. Checked for leaks again. No leaks were identified. Arrived on site. Conducted annual safety and maintenance inspection of the plumbing systems within the home and the crawl space. Flushed and serviced the tankless water heater. Provided options to install owner supplied single handle lav faucet as a replacement for the currently leaking pedestal sink, an owner supplied 2 handle lav faucet for the laundry and hot and cold emergency shut offs for the pedestal sink as it does not have any installed. Arrived on site. Provided pricing for installation of owner supplied mud sink and emergency shut offs. Shut off water to the home. Drained down water and installed hot and cold emergency shut offs for new mud sink installation. Restored water to the home. Bled excess air through an outdoor hose bib and through a bath faucet prior to checking other fixtures inside the home. Checked emergency stops for leaks, no leaks were identified.
