Day 1: Customer called about a leak at their water heater. Upon arrival, inspected. Two 40 gallon short natural gas water heaters installed side by side. The left water heater is leaking from within the tank near the cold inlet. Explained that it is not repairable. Talked with the customer about all the possible options. In order to replace the leaking tank, the right side tank will have to be removed. Both tanks are about 20-21 years old. After discussing options customer agreed to pricing for a new 75 gallon water heater to replace both existing tanks. We can’t do this work same day but I was able to stop the leak by installing a 3/4” ball valve on the hot side while still getting water to the home and having the right tank providing hot water. Customer put half down, we will be back out to install next week. Day 2: Arrived on site to perform work as proposed. Isolated both water heaters, drained and removed. Isolated recirculation pump.
