Upon arrival spoke with Gail she stated that she was concerned about her sump pump kicking on and off throughout the day and just wanted to have someone come out to inspect it to ensure it was working properly. Gave pricing for diagnostic on sump pump. Customer accepted pricing. Inspected sump pump and discharge lines connected to unit. Inspected basin found there to be some pea gravel in sump basin. Removed pea gravel from basin to prevent sump pump from sucking in debris in basin. Also found there to be no check valve or ball valve on discharge line causing discharge from sump pump to drain back into sump pit. Reaffirmed this by filling sump basin with water and inspecting unit as it discharged water. Each time sump pump kicked on water level in basin lowered but again rose by about an 1”-2”when sump pump shut off due to there not being a check valve on the discharge line. Inspected discharge piping going to exterior of home and tiring into the drain line for the gutter system found
