We had a new automatic humidifier installed recently and it was noisy turning on and off. The technician, Jan, was able to determine that the copper tubing from the water solenoid was conducting noise to the home's plumbing causing a racket every time the humidified turned on or off. He replaced the copper tubing with non-metallic PEX and solved the problem.
