Preformed maintenance inspection on heat pump system in an attic. Checked indoor coil and cleaned it per contract. Preformed leak search on coil and didn't find any leaks at this time. Wiped down blower motor wheel per contract. Noticed the emergency drain pan didn't have a float switch to it, gave customer pricing to do the work. Checked outdoor coil and found it to be clean with no signs of leaks at this time. Checked outdoor capacitor and found it to meet manufacturer set points. Checked compressor and outdoor fan motor amp draw and found it to meet manufacturer set points. Checked pressures with gauges and found them to meet manufacturer set points with current outdoor temperature. Preformed maintenance inspection on an A/C system in a basement. Checked coil and cleaned it per contract. Preformed leak search on coil and didn't find any leaks at this time. Wiped down blower motor wheel per contract. Checked blower motor capacitor and found it to meet manufacturer set points. C
Upon arrival found unit with error code 98/99. Compressor debate, lockout. Checked over system, no airflow or static issues. Coils are clean. Pressures in warmup are 120/300. Once warmup cycle ends, compressor derates and then shuts off. Spoke with carrier tech support. Ran several tests on system, found the inverter has internally failed. Not allowing proper function of unit. Need office to complete estimate for replacement inverter, and return to replace once part comes in.

(Attic) I got started by turning the system off at the thermostat and made my way to the air handler. I inspected multiple different components on the system, including the blower wheel/motor, evaporator coil, drain line (flushed drain line with a gallon of hot water), ductwork(dirty), electrical connections/components, etc. I checked all of these components for proper operation and cleanliness. As well as to make sure that nothing was damaged. I made my way to the outdoor unit. On the outdoor unit I inspected multiple different components as well, including electrical connections/components, Condenser fan motor, Compressor, Motor amp draws, Refrigerant pressures(good), And the out

Customer was hearing a humming noise come from indoor come to found that the contractor was chattering. Explained what was going on to customer and explained if part failed what damages is could cause to the system she thought it was a good ides to replace contractor. After replaced it went through hole system to make sure everthing else was working within manufacturers specs. Everthing checked out too be within manufacturers specs
Found the blower motor failed not properly adjusting speed cutting its self out. Will need to get price and availability for indoor blower for attic system.
I completed a complimentary refrigerant leak search on the system. No leaks found at this time. I found the compressor shorted to ground. It is tripping the breaker. Since this is a major repair. I called for verification visit from our territory manager per company policy. I prepared a repair quote for the system. Rob arrived and is going over options with the customer.

Completed inspection on attic system. Electrical connections are tight. Blower wheel and evap coil are clean. Blower motor amping within specs. Cleaned and flushed drain line. Ensuring water safeties functioning properly. Unit is level and draining properly. All ductwork is tight and secure. Reassembled system and proceeded outside. Completed inspection on outdoor unit. Electrical connections are tight. Cond fan, contractor, cond cap all within specs. Compressor is drawing higher amperage on startup. Suggest having hard start installed to lower starting amps on compressor. Washed cond coil. Pressures are within specs of charging chart. All ops are normal at this time.
Upon arrival completed inspection on indoor unit. Blower wheel and evap coil are clean. Did notice an biogrowth forming on pan of coil. Gave customer options on uv purification systems. Electrical connections are tight. Flushed drain line, ensuring water safety function. Blower bearings are tight and sealed. Found residual oil on suction line set. Unable to pinpoint source of leak. Gave customer options on recharging and repairing leak. Completed inspection on outdoor system. Electrical connections are tight washed condenser coil pressures are 90/320. Unit is low on charge. Customer opted to have system recharged. Added 2lbs 420a. Unit pressure now 116/365. No warranty or guarantee on recharge of system. Compressor contactor, condenser capacitor, all within specs. All ops at this time.

Customer would like his water heater flush on the next visit.
During my inspection today, I found that the furnace was out on a 41 error code. This error code was for the blower not operating properly. Upon further inspection, I found that the connection between the high voltage molex plug and the actual blower motor itself was loose. When I touched it at art. I secured it back in place and put zip ties around the Molex and the wires to make sure that it didn’t move anymore. After doing so the blower fired up and I was able to test the system out in the Heating mode. At this time the customer does have heat and it is working properly.
Arrived at customers residence and I was greeted by the customer and was led to the thermostat at this time.. and it is functioning properly at this time. Ins-ducted 20x2x1 filter and it is clean at this time.` Tape and duct work joints are tight and neat at this time and without any visible defects at this time. Inspected gas line into furnace and it is tight and neat and every joints and fitting is doped and tightened properly and without any visible defects at this time. Inspected manual shut off gas valve and it is functioning properly at this time.ins-extend condensate drain and it is clear and functioning properly at this time. inspected zoning control board and it is functioning properly at this time. Refrigerant lines are tight and neat and Arma flex insulation is intact and without any visible defects or issues at this time. Inspected inducer draft motor and it is functioning properly at this time. Inducer draft motor has an .6 amp draw at this time. Inspected blower motor
Arrived to the customers home and greeted him at the door. Spoke to the system on house. Both systems have been performing and it had any concerns at this time. We completed both maintenance inspections on upper and lower level systems with cleanings per membership. Completed maintenance inspection, checklist for upper and lower level heat pumps, uploaded pictures and videos. Address lower level evaporator coil leak from fall with the customer after finding another leak in the coil and system low on refrigerant. Customer is unable to except estimate today, but plans on moving forward in the near future so isn’t worried about adding refrigerant at this time. Returned system to service
