Responded to a no cooling call for a commercial customer in Kern County California. The bulk foods area was too warm and candy was melting. Upon arrival, our technician troubleshooted the unit, finding it working and space at 73 degrees. Continued investigating and pinpointed a faulty thermostat that had caused the unit to short cycle intermittently. Replaced thermostat and ran new wiring. Tested and ran system, no more short cycling after new thermostat installed. Job complete.

Dispatched our commercial refrigeration technician to a customer on Ming Avenue in Bakersfield CA. Their freezer was spiking at 32 degrees. Upon arrival our tech found ice blocking the coil, but not over the coil. Defrosted system, checked pressures. Performed a leak check `and found a leak on the liquid line going to the evaporator. Recommend replacing the liquid and suction line driers, as well as filter drier. Was able to source parts same day and repair. Recharged system and confirmed it was operational once again.

Customer request duct repair and ceiling tile repair found after a water leak that was resolved earlier in the summer. Our HVACR technician inspected the site, finding that the ducting was too close to the t-bar causing tiles to break whenever the store tried to replace them. Recommend the site call a general contractor to assess and possibly lower the t-bar, so that tiles can be replaced correctly without breakage.

A commercial customer in Bakersfield CA reported that their ice cream was frozen over inside, and that a nozzle had fallen off the temperature gauge. Upon arrival, our refrigeration tech found the temperature control would need to be replaced, as it wasn't operating correctly and keeping the system running non-stop. There was also a section of worn insulation that had needed replacing. Sourced a new temperature controller at a local parts house and replaced the controller, along with the worn insulation. Set the new controller for -2 degrees with a cut-in of 4 degrees F. Cycled and tested system, unit now maintaining proper temperatures and employees should be able to scoop ice cream correctly now.

Received an AC call for a home goods store in Bakersfield CA that reported their office and back of store weren't cooling. Their EMS system registered the space at 80 degrees with a unit supply temp of 80 as well. The technician pinpointed the #6 Lennox unit. The system had its blower access panel removed and the draft motor vent had been moved inside the heat exchanger compartment. Ignition control module was hanging by a wire. Tech also noted clothing left on the roof next to the unit. Resolved all issues to get unit cooling again. Spoke to manager onsite, possible issue with separate contractor who was onsite the previous day or transients who have been occasionally found on the roof. Confirmed with EMS that site is cooling normally again.

A pharmacy in Bakersfield, CA, reported a tripping hazard on their walk-in cooler. Our technician found the ramp had bent and was splitting apart at the corners. He was able to screw down the metal slightly to improve use, but ramp needs to be removed and replaced as the metal has warped. Advised manager of situation and hazard potential, quoting working ASAP to main office.
