Bought the system from Thompson *Heating*Air Conditioning and they installed it on 10/18/2022. At my request, they came back to make some additional changes that I requested during 2023. Today Ty came out to perform the annual maintenance on the A/C. As I expected, everything checked out OK and there were no outstanding issues. Ty gave me some additional tips on what I could do to ensure the system stays in tip top running condition.

2 y.o Clients called us out today due to water draining out of side of home. Usually an indication of a primary condensation line backing up. Another company had installed system and client refuses to have them come out to fix issue. After opening attic access, found flue pipe completely disconnected from furnace. Explained to clients this was a major health and safety issue. Does not look like previous company tried to screw in flue pipe. Vinyl tubing underneath sink with a major kink. Blew out line with nitrogen tank. Water is still finding its way into secondary drain pan. Found water leaking into secondary drain pan, indication of a crack in primary drain pan. Systems have multiple code violations. Manager will write up repair list and email to client. Thompson reserves the right to disqualify itself if repairs cannot be guaranteed. Cooling maintenance on a three yr old x series condensing unit. Customer stated the outdoor unit was louder than usual. While performing the maintenance found the the sound was normal when the compressor ramped up and down.
Client called us out today due to no cooling from one of the systems. Cycled cooling. System is only producing a 2 to 3° split (normal should be 18 to 20°). Inspected condenser, hooked up refrigerant gauges and found pressures to be half of what manufacturers recommend. This would indicate a refrigerant leak somewhere on the coil or line sets. Explained to client what steps need to be taken to find or seal leak. Client has agreed to move forward with UV dye/sealant and recharging system. Follow up schedule 1 1/2 to 2 months from now for leak search. Inspected other system. Filter was extremely dirty, advised changing more regularly. Pressures are within spec. No Cool diagnostic found 1yr 3ton Split AC Pro system with improper charge; recommend charging to manufacturer specifications and Thompson’s Service Partner Plan for both units.
Walked house with owner and checked the plumbing to everything is copper and look good. They thought it was old galvanized cause the house is so old, but someone did do new copper recently. Also, owner would like HVAC to come out and give an estimate for heating and AC a whole new system because there is no heat
Return visit to perform approved work to client, to excavate and determine source of water leak. * Approximately 18 inches down, found two copper line that are angled towards garage. Steam was coming from copper line on left and was hot to the touch. Did run hot water from utility sink in garage and pipe got hotter. Leak is coming from pipe that supplies hot water to utility sink in garage. Will provide two options for client on repair and will send them via email.

Thermostat issue was a low battery signal, customer replaced batteries and system has been working fine. She asked since I was here to perform a check up on the system. Performed a two system cooling maintenance. # service.
Precision Tune up and cleaning completed on two 10yr split gas 3 & 4 ton Maytag attic systems; replaced 413 & 213 Aprilaire filters, cleaned condenser coil and cleared condensation drain line; ran both systems to cool; all components operating properly within manufacturer specifications; recommended Thompson’s Service Partner Plan and Power Protection kits got both outdoor air conditioners
Performed plumbing inspection of crawls space for client to is selling their home, per inspection report soil under residence is saturated. After inspection did find an area where moisture is actively coming from. Will need to provide client with recommendations for next step and also will email client estimate for other repairs listed on report
Return trip to check pressures on upstairs system; ran to cool, pressures have maintained stability and remain within manufacturer specifications. system is operating properly. No further recommendations.
Return visit to complete sold work from previous estimate, will turn incoming water off to water heater and make repair to piping. After work was complete, ensured no leaks were present. At this time piping is leak free
For this job we will be removing a galvanized pipe that connects the ball valve to a 3/4 inch brass tee. If we are unable to remove the nipple , we will need to install a new ball valve for an additional cost. We will also have to cut a 1/2 inch copper pipe in order for us to unthread the brass tee. # service
Cooling maintenance on a 11 yr old maytag condensing unit. System is operating well and the only recommendation would be to replace the weak dual run cap.
