Sloppy Technician Work

I like this company but the technician who came to perform the tune-up was very sloppy. He dropped one of the compressor screws into the adjancent window well without telling me, and didn't even try to recover it. Luckily I noticed the missing screw's hole and was able to find the screw and reinstall it myself. He also failed to reapply HVAC tape to the temperature differential holes--so I had to ask him to do so. I hope to have better technicians in the future.

Response from Western Heating & Air Conditioning (Lehi):

Hi Stewart, we are glad you gave us a review today and we are so very sorry that you did not have a good experience with Western. We do guarantee our work 100% satisfaction. Please feel free to call our office and we would be more then happy to discuss this event. This does help us do continued training's with our technicians and better our services.

Furnace had code 14 which is lockout code. Reset the furnace. Found that the ignitor was over ohming and not igniting the gas. You have a home warranty. You didn’t want to do anything today. System is not up and running when i left.

No heat call When I first looked over the furnace to see what was going on, I found that the furnace gas valve was turned off. After turning it on and doing a tuneup, everything seem to be going fine until I realized that the flu was completely disconnected. Once I connected the flu the furnace turned off immediately. There has to be some kind of obstruction or blockage in the exhaust flue because the pressure switch will not close with the flu connected to the furnace. I let the customer know exactly what was going on and he would like to clear the blockage himself. I told a customer after the obstruction is removed the furnace “should” run fine. Furnace not running upon departure.

We did a furnace on two 2016 Lennox systems they are both working properly. The upstairs system has a capacitor that is weak and probably should be replaced soon. The airflow upstairs also is a bit restrictive in the return side The down service system is working properly, the only concern is the filter that is dirty See health report card for more details. I talked to Roxanna about some protection devices for your furnace and AC systems and about water quality, we talked about the flow tech max and a flow tech water filter system. I will send an estimate for those with his invoice.

I performed a prepaid furnace tune up on one system. I completed a health report card and found that everything was operating within factory specifications. I checked the heat exchangers and did not see any signs of cracking. I performed an air analysis on the supply air and confirmed there was no carbon monoxide entering the home. At this time I recommended a surge protector and an air scrubber for the system.

I performed a furnace tune up on one unit. I completed a furnace health report card which I photographed and gave the customer to physical copy. I checked the evaporator coil and it was free of obstruction and I checked the heat exchangers which did not show signs of cracking. I tested the carbon monoxide in the supply air and the analysis read 0. I did find that the inducer motor was rated for .65 amps and the motor is currently amping at .67 amps. I would recommend a replacement of this part to avoid future failure. Everything else was operating within factory specifications. I watched the system run for 15-20 minutes before leaving.

I performed two furnace tune ups for the customer, one in the basement and one upstairs. The customer stated that he has to replace his basement air filter every 10 days. During the tune up on the basement unit I found that the blower wheel and blower housing were dirty with what appeared to be drywall dust. Everything else tested within factory specifications. During the upstairs furnace tune up I found that the furnace fired up and the flame sputtered before going out. I found a large amount of dust buildup in the burner compartment. I cleaned the compartment and pulled and cleaned the burners. After this the furnace fired up and remained running. I found that this blower wheel was also dirty and in need of cleaning. Everything else was testing within factory specifications. I highly recommend duct cleaning for both units along with blower wheel cleanings for both units. The customer stated he would call into the office to have this scheduled. Both furnaces were running upon depa

Repaired leaking braze joint near filter drier , pressure tested system up to 416 psig and held that for 40 minutes. Then pumped down system to under 500 microns . Charged system back to factory charge of 4.3 lbs of 410a . At this time all ops are normal with system customer is able to use a/c for spring time .

I performed a furnace tune up on a 2017 Amana system. The system is working properly. I adjusted the gas pressure to 3.20inW for a better combustion. The blower wheel is a bit dusty, but it’s. It affecting performance yet. System was working properly when I left. See health report card for more details. Thank you for your business.

I preformed a furnace tune up today. From the tune up the only issues I found are the filter is only have a few weeks left in it and the blower wheel/ motor is pretty dusty. I recommend a surge protector for the furnace as surges aren’t covered under warranty. Kristin was busy with work so decided not to have it done today. Furnace was running when I left.

Non WSC furnace tune up. System is brand new. Over all everything appears to be working well. All areas of health report card scored in the green except for blower cleanliness. This is due to the new construction dust.

I performed a furnace tuneup on two 2019 Bryant systems. The basement system was really dirty but working well. I recommend a blower wheel cleaning to avoid future damage to the motor. The upstairs system is in better conditions but is having a combustion issue. The flame won’t light properly depending on the gas pressure I adjusted the gas pressure around to get to a pressure where the system would light up multiple times. If the problem persists we might need to come back and adjust the gas pressure again. I also took a look at the upstairs AC system, we did a leak search about a month ago and I was asked to make sure that there is no leaks. I did found a leak at first joint in the liquid line. See health report card for more details. Thank you for your business.

Today I came out for a Furnace tune up. The system was installed by us last September and is looking great! My only 2 recommendations today are as follows; A surge protector and a wet switch. This will keep the system fully covered under warranty in the event of a power surge or water somehow making its way from the water heater or drain to the furnace. Thank you for having us out today!
