Posted bonds on a client's Cockrell Hill, Dallas Police Department and Mesquite tickets but client will now have to wait for Denton PD as they added holds on her as well.
Had a client arrested in central Texas 3 days before Christmas. He couldn't afford his cash bond so he got transferred to Dallas County over the weekend and sat in jail straight through Christmas. His fiancee sent payment on Wednesday morning and we were (miraculously) able to get him sent over to a nearly empty courthouse that same morning to get him in front of a judge and get him time served. Now he'll get out and get back home. It's a Christmas miracle!
Just left the Mesquite Jail where I posted bonds for somebody who's being held in DeSoto or Balch Springs. I can't remember where, but I told the Jailer so he'll send the release to the right place.
At Mesquite Municipal Court helping a client keep his drivers license clear of convictions.
Working on traffic tickets for several clients in Mesquite Municipal Court. Trying to keep these off their records so they won't do further damage to their driver license. Everybody is trying to keep their driver licenses so we try to make sure that is possible.
Taking care of our warrant / traffic ticket docket in Mesquite today. Helping people save their licenses, keep their jobs and stay out of trouble.
Extending a client's cases 1 more time to allow her to get her driver license sorted so she can keep from having surcharges and suspensions. We've been stretching it to the very limit to try to help her.
Shuffling cases around to keep my Mesquite Municipal Court clients from harm. We have to keep things flowing in a certain order to fix their tickets up so they don't get suspensions and surcharges from the Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS). And we also don't want their traffic tickets slipping back into warrant status. Sometimes it means going the extra mile (or 28 miles roundtrip) to keep them out of warrant, out of trouble and out of jail. Some of them step up and help themselves while others ignore the mail, email and phone calls and try to hide. We prefer the former. They end up with much better results.
Got client's three class c traffic tickets dismissed in the City of Mesquite Municipal Court saving her roughly $1200.
Got dismissals for some of my clients today in Mesquite. Those are pretty rare here.
Doing a writ to get a brand new client out of jail. Apparently the other bond companies and attorneys his friends were calling didn't know how to do this so I get to make some money doing it.
Had one client with 12 cases today. Luckily for him two of the officers have retired so roughly half of his tickets were dismissed. Can't win a case you can't prove!
