Today I was called to troubleshoot the dishwasher breaker tripping. I put the dishwasher circuit onto another breaker to either prove the breaker was bad or to verify a fault. The circuit tripped again. I recommend calling an appliance repair tech or replacing the dishwasher. We also talked about flickering lights which could be caused by a number of things. Possible remedies include changing the outlets and switches to eliminate back stabbed wiring, a surge protector at the panel, or a panel tune up to identify and fix any loose connections. Today I inspected an existing motion light on the front of the garage and found it today be damaged beyond repair from being sprayed with a pressure washer. I installed a new motion light with LED bulbs and provided a quote to create a new opening and install a motion light in the back yard. Today I was called to troubleshoot no power to a hallway outlet. I researched the wiring but it looks like it was either abandoned or taken to feed something else. I refed the outlet from another opening down the hallway and installed a receptacle in the cold room for a dehumidifier. Fixed fixture that was not wire correctly and hung two lights.
Today I was called to troubleshoot no power to the water heater. I tested for power at the disconnect, the splices on the water heater, and the connection points inside the water heater. 240 volts are present at all locations. I then tested continuity on the two heating elements and found the lower one to be bad. I recommended calling a plumber to replace the element.
