The technician was friendly and did a good job, but the pricing was out of whack. When I initially scheduled the service, I asked the receptionist what a ball park charge would be for new thermostat and ball valve replacement. I was told on the phone that there was no charge to come out and diagnose so when I saw a huge diagnostic fee on my bill, I was a little taken aback. Then it wasn’t applied to the actual service charge which is just weird. Also, I didn’t like being coerced into purchasing the “Home Care” plan as I was told it would cost $59 and if I didn’t purchase the plan, my service fee would increase by $140. All told, the service was good, the charge was exhorbitant- originally over 1K for zone ball valve repair and thermostat replacement. I did speak with customer service, who was very nice, and she credited the diagnostic fee back to me, but I still feel like $824 for 2 hours of this type of work was a steep. Average costs appear to be in the $400-500 range which is what I was expecting.
