My story is unorthodox, but certainly needs to be told. In the effort of full disclosure, let it be known that I am the renter of the home Chris did work on, not the owner. However, that being said, this property that I rent had a roof leak for 4+ months. I don't mean a little leak, I mean soak my living room floor every time it rained leak...... with a brand new baby in the house. The management company sent many, many contractors to the house, all of whom either failed to follow through with any reasonable course of action or simply couldn't identify where the roof was leaking. The management company wasn't exactly sending quality contractors to the home. In all honesty, every contractor that came here just shrugged me and the situation off. They genuinely didn't care at all. Finally, after I raised several demons from the pits of hell to force a resolution and the end to this leak, Chris Spilman of Spilman Inc was sent to the home. From that day forward, everything changed. Even meeting him at the door was different than everyone else who had come. It was the first time in four months I knew the problem was actually going to be fixed. Chris took a personal interest and concern in me, my family, and my situation. He spoke with me in email and on the phone about the issue late into the night on more than one occasion. He came out on Saturdays and Sundays to further investigate and made a point to be at the house when it was raining so he could see first hand. He listened to what I had to say, and treated me as if I were the person paying. He followed through on everything he said he would do and then gave a little more. He cared about us. At the end of it all, his crew installed a brand new roof, replaced the siding and trim on the chimney, and replaced the chimney cap. His crew treated my wife and I, as well as our sleeping baby, with the utmost respect. They made every effort to inconvenience us as little as possible. They were kind, they worked well together, they were clean, and they were fast..... My god were they fast. It was like a science. I am pleased to say the leak has been resolved and the new roof looks outstanding. And Chris, as you know, we will be buying soon. I tell you honestly, after all you did to help us (all the little things I won't mention here) I will always call you first and I will refer you to everyone I know. You really went above and beyond. I can't even begin to thank you for all you did - and especially for caring. People always say to look for the silver lining. Well, in my horrid experience, you were that silver lining.
