Repairs to York furnace and condenser.s. ;
AC not working. Power surge to home has damaged control board on furnace. Secondary power is present at terminals on board, but will not pass through circuit to power thermostat. Control board is showing open circuit error code. Condenser has damage compressor. Indoor fan is running but compressor is not pumping refrigerant. Compressor has damage internally. Furnace needs new control board and condenser needs new compressor.
Condenser was dirty causing it to over heat and shut off on overload. Washed out condenser and compressor started back up. Freon is still holding good, condenser was just off on overload. Cottonwoods and grass had the coil stopped up. See pictures.
Checked upstairs system for leaks. Found leak on equalizer tube. Tighten fitting and fixed the leak. System held stead pressure for 30 minutes. Recharged system and checked all of system again for leaks nothing found. System is cooling and running again.
AC not cooling well. Changed filter and cleaned outdoor unit. Unit was low on Freon. Added 16 ounces of Freon and temperature split improved to 20.5 degrees. Unit is cooling and removing humidity from home.
During tune up I found that blower capacitor is 7.5 reading 5.4 out of tolerance making blower motor pull more amps than needed Also condenser was really dirty running high temp so after I washed it I noticed that system is low on r22 Checked around condenser for leaks and didn’t find any so I went to check the coil and I found leak with leak detector, took video and showed homeowner System will not cool properly without replacing coil or adding r22 I’ve sent over quotes on fixing system I recommend the complete system because everything is out of warranty and it would be better for you in the future to replace everything now so you can live stress free for the next 10yrs
5uf capacitor on ac for fan motor is out of tolerance reading 3.57, I recommend replacing 15uf blower capacitor is out of tolerance reading 13.48, I recommend replacing System low on r22, found leak in coil and took video showed customer Customer will likely buy new coil but wants to wait until he’s back from vacation to make the decision
5uf capacitor reading 4.59 which is lower than the 6% allowed, capacitor is out of tolerance I recommend replacing it System a little low on refrigeration, didn’t find leak, system will cool good but not 100% sub cooling should no lower than 8 degrees your system is running @ 1 degree
AC not cooling. Unit dirty and low on Freon. Cleaned condenser and checked indoor unit. Evaporator coil leaking and orifice clogged. Recovered refrigerant and flushed system. Removed orifice, cleaned, and reinstalled. Evacuation of system and charging with new R-410A. System has 18.2 degree temp split and pressures are stable. Unit cooling home. Educator discount.
South ac capacitor right at tolerance level 70/10 recommend replacing, customer elected not to replace right now Both systems cooling well
Checked over all 4 systems, checked capacitors, fan motors, compressor, contactors, refrigeration charge, dusted inside of condensers and washed out condensing coils, checked drains, changed filters, all systems cooling well Found that the front yard system capacitor is out of tolerance 70/10, also found that ac on north side of house capacitor is out of tolerance also 45/10 I recommend replacing capacitors but they are working now and you can wait
