Performed single system heating maintenance on a 1998 furnace. The system is heating but has some issues. The customer asked me about thermostats and about installing a customer supplied thermostat. Recommendations 1. The system has an emergency pan that is beginning to rust through 39 1/2 by 15 and does not have any water safety switches. 2. The blower motor is matted with dust causing to work harder and may cause a premature failure. 3. The blower capacitor is reading 13/12.5. When the capacitor goes above its rated, it risks burning up the motor. 4. There is a duct that comes off the top of the supply plenum that makes a direct turn. This reduces the air flow to the specific area. 5. The gas valve is over feeding the burns causing flames to fly everywhere at the initial start up. This can cause burn damage to wires and cause a lock out due to a roll out switch. 6. The furnace is extremely aged (1998), the evaporator coil is from 2017, and the condenser is from 2023. I
