Air Patrol to the Rescue!

I contacted Air Patrol Air Conditioning to come out and finish the job that another established local HVAC contractor bungled. I called Air Patrol at 0800, we discussed the issue, and Shawn said they would be at my house between 1300-1500. True to their word, the technicians Alan and Jay showed up at 1310 with the parts they needed and were finished by 1500. The issue was a multi-component failure, evidently caused by an electrical transient on the power feed to the AC condenser. The prior contractor (who was also the company that installed the entire system just five years ago) had already come out two days before, initially struggled to diagnose the issue, and came back a day later to replace the PCM board on the condenser, which did not fully resolve the issue. They then thought the issue was a faulty inverter on the condenser. However, they were proposing that they would not be able to get the parts and install them for still another day, making for a total of three days without AC. The other contractor was also proposing to charge almost ten times as much as Air Patrol ended up charging me. Air Patrol also installed an ICM493 voltage monitor and surge protector at the condenser power feed, as recommended by Carrier in order to protect against the same root cause from doing damage again. I was impressed with the professionalism of the Air Patrol staff from top to bottom, the extremely fast response time, very reasonable pricing with upfront and clear discussion on that point in advance, and in general, simply a level of technical competence with the task at hand which was not universally shared with competitor companies. I am a very happy customer.

These guys are great in every way. The best thing is that they are honest. I had a quote from Milestone for my AC repair and one from Air Patrol, Air Patrol was much less. I asked Air Patrol why they were less and showed them the Milestone quote. Milestone had included several things that were already on my units and they also charged double the part cost that Air Patrol charged for the EXACT same parts.
