Changed out media filter

Cliff P.

Cliff P. Job Checkin

System pad a dirty drain pan and an extremely impacted media filter. Stanpac in media filter increased the negative static pressure in the cabinet, that combined with the debris in the drain pan cause the water to drain into the auxiliary drain pan and ultimately drip into the garage. Clean the drain pan and the drain line treated with antimicrobial agents. Shop-Vac dry the auxiliary drain pan and removed the media filter. Putting a reschedule call for us to come out and bring them a replacement filter. Unit is running Cooling and draining fine at this time.

Customer informed me that system was freezing up and that there was no airflow coming through the ducts even though the blower motor was running. Inspected the duct work underneath the home and scrubbed it down the evaporator coil. After doing so the system still freezing up. Customer requested estimate on coil pull and clean. This is not recommended on such an old system as it can die very shortly after the procedure is complete. Recommend system replacement.
