Found the system low on r22. Recommend having the system replaced as it's phased out and leaking r22.
Completed the maintenance inspection. Installed a PVC T to allow us to treat the drain line. Recommend our silver maintenance program.
I repaired low voltage stat wire going to condenser. It was unhooked from condenser. It is cooling at this time.
10 year parts and 1 year labor warranty
Upon arrival they were not sure which unit was down. I found unit 2 off on float switch. I vacuumed all three drainlines. While vacuuming lines on unit 3 I found it completely iced over. I shut condenser off and rescheduled to return tomorrow to check charge and leak check again. I am sure now there is a small leak in evaporater coil. I checked 6 months ago when had same problem and thought I repaired leak at that time. I could not get thawed out in time today before office closes.
Recorded video for sound of system shut down on a VNA4
Cant access AH. RS for another tech.
Adjusted the Subcooling to 12 degrees and installed the 12x12 return grill.

Routine Tune Up
Annual ac tuneup and cleaning. I checked all amp draws and static pressure. I checked refrigerant pressures. I checked temp splits. I checked capacitor and contactor. I waxed outdoor unit and cleaned both coils. I flushed drainline multiple times.I did not find any problems at this time.
Upon arrival the float switch was tripped but no water in it at this time. It had stuck up. Homeowner had cleaned his drainline but float did not reset. It is cooling and draining at this time.
Upon arrival one bedroom not cooling. Another company installed a new return duct. They were suspended to run it back to airhandler. They ran it to the hallway filter box. I explained to homeowner that a new larger duct needs to be ran back to airhandler. The grills need to be changed to hold a filter. I am going to ta Talk it over with Dave Taylor to get accurate pricing and call customer Monday with estimate.
Customer stated noise from outdoor unit on shut down. Checked charges and Amp RLA Found no problems with system. Noise is system Ramping down through speeds to shut off and EXV Equalization. Waited for system to cycle down to off to try an determine what noise is. After waiting for system to finally shut off i found. On shut down compressor makes a sudden stop that causes noise. Pressure were at 160/309 when system shut down. At 7.5° sub-cool at point of shut down. System working within factory specifications. Noise at sut down is the thing that needs looked into equalizer or something else that is not allowing for a smooth shut down Looking into the answer and will get back to customer when we have proper answers. Could be a multitude of things but acts as if it shuts down under load.
No cool. Found burned wire in OD unit. Repair wire and test. System operating at this time. Recommend replacing system with new Carrier AC system.
