Jeff, the tech, was on time and carefully explained exactly what was wrong with our system and offered choices to remedy. We've been a customer of Bay Area for many years and they've always exceeded our expectations. Thanks so much...
He put new pvc and got the water out of the unit. He was a real gentleman.
Jeff our service technician came out. He was great, explained the problem. My husband and I were very satisfied.
the installers ,the salesman, the trouble shooter, Dale, were all first rate and I would recomend the company to any one.
upon arrival I found module not starting motor. I checked warranty to quote. I submitted a quote request because it was a FV airhandler. I also was unsure if a Evergreen module was available since FV modules are different mount than standard airhandlers.
Found the zone board isn't powering up. It's receiving 24 volts the customer will replace it himself
Found that the cool button has failed on the thermostat. Removed the thermostat and repaired the button. This is only a temporary repair and may be an issue later on. No warranty on today's repair.
Checked over the system. On arrival the upstairs zone was calling for cooling but the furnace heat was on. After resetting the system the heating and cooling for that zone was working fine. Maybe an issue with the ignition board or some board. The customer also stated that the downstairs zone was blowering air even when it's not calling for heat or cooling. The dampers are weak and allowing air to past them. This zoning system is powered close spring open. I'd recommend replacing the zone system and go from there. The ignition board may need to be replaced but not sure yet as the system is operating at this time.
Completed maintenance. Washed indoor and outdoor coils. Treated and flushed drain line. Checked electric heating. Pressures and Amp draws check out OK.
Found a blown fuse due to a shorted wire in the condenser. Replaced the fuse and fixed the short.
Upon arrival I checked wiring of stat and it was fine. The condenser was kicking out on low pressure switch do to outdoor txv stuck. I tested in cool bypassing txv outdoors and pressure was good. I discussed at length all options with replacing valve verses new equipment. I did the job replacement sheet. Did jot get NOC signed at this time.
Upon arrival the panel was not depressing the safety switch to start gas furnace. I adjusted switch and installed panel tightly so safety switch would start furnace. It is heating at this time.
Found gas metering device in the off position. Turn on and system operating.
Perform yearly maintenance checks and cleanings. System operating and draining at this time.
Upon arrival the float switch was not seated properly in cup. I showed homeowner how it will make the stat go lank and nothing wrong with stat. I vacuumed drainline and flushed with water to make sure it was not backing up. They wanted quotes for replacement of system. I filled out job replacement sheet and quoted replacement units.
