Gas leak. Xcel said it was the fireplace. But had turned off both the stop in the wall as well as the shutoff for appliance in cabinet for both fireplaces. Yet still reeked of gas when I went in. Soaped up all exposed fitttings and didn’t see anything. Flipping to Brad. 1.25 inch gas main coming in . Tried calling customer to collect but was unable to reach.
Arrived on site for persistent issue of tub and shower that are back to back backing up. When tub was ran it would back up into the shower and when the shower was ran it went back into the tub. Homeowner showed me pictures of tub and shower backed up this morning but upon arrival both tub and shower had drained. After looking at the previous notes decided that the best point of entry would be through the vent on the roof. Ran flex shaft from roof, drop is about 15 to 20 feet before it 90s and it goes to the cast-iron main line. I was able to send all 70 feet of flex shaft with no issues. Upon retrieval of line found there to be some hair and that was it. Filled bathtub and let it drain and it did not back up into the shower, ran tub four more times and had no issues in the shower. On the last run of the tub, ran shower at the same time while tub was draining and there were no issues and drains operated normally. At this time both tub and shower are operational, have informed homeowner
Secondary line clearing Pulled the drain cover from the shower backing up and ran the 100 machine down the line. Did not feel any major obstructions. Ran both bathroom faucets and the tub on the bathroom that backs up to it while I was running the cable. The water had no issue draining. I ran the shower and let it drain with no issue. I filled the tub 5 times and the water drained perfectly each time. I. Eli eve there is no blockage in line. Told resident that I we could look into a main line issue next time if it happens again.
Snaked main drain from outside cleanout in front yard.made several passed with snake and pulled out a large amount of tree roots from drain.
Customer was concerned about the far back to back bathrooms. The other day while kids were showering water began backing up in to both the shower and tub. Also the toilets did not flush completely. However earlier cusotmer has heard a noise and the water level on all fixtures in the back of home began to drain. And thier has been no other issue since. From customer description it seems like they may have had a soft blockage/clog in the 3" cast iron drain that runs through crawl space across house toward garage and master bathroom. They said that they had no issue with master bathroom at all. Advised customer to monitor the situation and if issue with back bathroom drains returns or becomes a frequent occurrence there maybe an obstruction in the 3" cast iron drain that runs across the crawl space. It could be possible to snake but as the cast iron is orignal tothe home it may require a repair. Another issue customer had noticed is that the far bathroom ensuite toilet was slow to
