Great service, fast, qualify

Couldn't be happier with our decision to use Black Haak for installation of our new air condition system! Great customer service, fast installation (had to quit early one day due to rain, but still finished ahead of time) and the products work just as the salesman said they would.

No heat. The geo was locked out on low pressure. Tested the pressure switch, it was open. Checked system pressure. The standing pressure was 40 psi. I checked for refrigerant leaks. Found the sensing bulb tube wore through the copper discharge line. I recovered the refrigerant from the system. I repaired the discharge line by brazing the the worn area. Pressure tested system. Pulled system into a vacuum and held at 500 microns. I added the factory charge of refrigerant to the system. I cycled the system. It’s heating properly at this time.

Furnace clean and tune. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger. Found rust in the front and on the first bend of primary heat exchanger. This is common with burner damage and corrosion. Checked, removed, and cleaned burners and flame sensor. Cleaned burners as best I could. They are now in working order. Checked and cleaned flame sensor. Found that flame sensor is chipped. This will cause flame sensor failure in future. Ventor motor bearings are also worn and noisy. This motor will seize at any time. Rust throughout the system. Found water leaking from Ventor motor gasket and also a cracked transition assembly. Water rust spots also found in blower compartment. Igniter is worn and replacement is recommended. System is 13 years old and there are several issues throughout the unit. Due to age, condition, and cost of repair, second opinion is recommended. Future failure is expected. Job complete.

The infloor heat wasn’t heating properly. I checked the system. I found the infloor systems was airlocked. I purged water through the system to get the air out of the piping. I cycled the system. All three zones are heating properly now. I recommend having a clean and tune performed on the geo unit. Office will call to schedule the clean and tune.

Performed a 1st year furnace cleaning. Cleaned the burners and the flame sensor. Checked the furnace heat exchanger. Wiped down the inside of the furnace. Checked the electrical. Cycled the furnace and performed a furnace combustion test. No issues with the furnace at this time. Inspected the furnace for water leaks. Found some minor water rust spots under the intake vent inlet. Tightened up all the clamps inside the furnace. Checked underneath the drain trap. There is no water dripping at this time.

Performed leak search; found leak in high side braze joint at the condenser, soldered joint and releases charge, added 1 pound of refrigerant bring our subcooling up to 8 degrees as well as a 17 degree temp split. This system is currently operating normal at this time. I am including a quote for an electronic air cleaner this will reduce the allergens and particles in he home dramatically compared to the allergen filter in place. Job complete

Performed the package cleaning. Furnace: Burners and flame sensor are clean. Heat exchanger looks okay. Combustion readings were normal. Drain lines are clear. No CO detected in the air. High limit passed the safety check. Temp rise was 69°. Only thing I found is the rust from what appears to be water damage awhile back. No standing water or leaks at this time. AC: No leaks detected. Electrical components tested good. Capacitor tested in the required zone. Condenser was cleaned with water and nu brite. Refrigerant charge was normal. Superheat was 11° with a 20° temp split. All HVAC equipment is operating properly.

Performed AC safety check; sniffed the evaporator coil for potential leaks, cycled the AC on to verify operation, I did inspect the electrical compartment the capacitor is 10 years old and is showing definite signs of wear I would recommend getting this replaced with the AC clean and tune, the outdoor coil is getting plugged with cotton and other debris i highly recommend getting this system cleaned on a warmer day so we can spray down the outdoor coil with a chemical solution as well as to check pressures on the system to prevent any future issues. This system is currently operating normal at this time. Job complete
