We purchased a new furnace last year from Black-Haak Heating and it has worked out very well this past winter. We had our first free service check up which was a nice added bonus with the purchase of the furnace. The service man was very friendly and explained all well of the questions I asked!
Dan is friendly and efficient. He answers my questions understandably.
Hunter was pleasant and thorough with our service
Kody did a fantastic job.
Pkg clean and tune. Checked indoor coil with refrigerant sniffer. Found indications of a leak on the coil. Cleared drain line and replaced filter. Cycled system. Checked and cleaned electrical compartment. Tested compressor and fan motor, both tested low on megohmeter. Capacitor is ok. Contactor is rusting. Used coil cleaner on condenser coil. Hooked up gauges and tested pressures and temps. Found system low on R-22 charge. System is about a pound low. Indoor split was at 11 degrees. Due to age, condition, and cost to repair, second opinion is recommended. Cycled furnace. Checked heat exchanger, ok. Checked and cleaned burners and flame sensor. Both ok. Checked igniter, ok. Tightened electrical connections and clamps. Checked gas pressures and adjusted to maximize efficiency. Checked for CO and XS air levels in exhaust, both in normal range. No CO found in airstream. System operating normal at this time. Job complete. No payment at this time pending results of second opinion.
Install an extra outlet next to the existing outlet and switches in bathroom.
Performed package clean and tune; inspected the condenser electrical compartment and tested components system keeps short cycling, i bypassed Tstat problem persisted, replaced contactor still same issue, sniffed the evaporator coil for possible leaks did find quite a few leaks, No cool until refrigerant is added, removed and cleaned the burners along with flame sensor, tested igniter which did test weak, inspected the heat exchanger did find a substantial amount of rust, cycled the furnace on and checked gas pressures, as well as performed a combustion test CO is over 90ppm with over 200 excess air this system is not safe to operate at this time. I recommend looking into options. Job complete
Checked indoor coil with refrigerant sniffer. Found indications of leaks on indoor coil. Cycled system. Checke elctrical compartment. Found wire damage. Capacitor and contactor are original and worn. Compressor and fan motor both tested at 100 ohms. In caution range. Hooked up gauges and pressures and temps. Found system low on r-22 refrigerant. Indoor coil temp was 30 degrees. Subcooling was at 4. Second opinion to be scheduled. Job complete.
Ac clean and tune. Checked indoor coil with refrigerant sniffer, no leaks found. Cycled system. Cleared drain lines, checked filter, ok. Checked and cleaned electrical compartment. Capacitor is rusted, but tested ok at this time. Used coil cleaner on condenser coil. Hooked up gauges and checked pressures and temps, both normal. Temp split normal. System operating normal at this time. Job complete.
Performed Package clean and tune; inspected the condenser electrical compartment and tested components, sprayed the condenser with coil cleaner, cycled the system on and checked pressures and temps subcooling sitting at 8 degrees with an 18 degree temp split. System is currently operating normal at this time. Inspected the exhaust and intake PVC ensuring all connections were secured, removed and cleaned the burners along with the flame sensor, cycled the furnace on and checked gas pressures, performed a combustion test verifying no CO in the airstream system is heating at 46 degrees at this time. Recommend replacing #10 water panel in the humidifier before Fall. Also did want to mention the 20x25x4 filter is not the correct filter for the box I recommend using the correct aprilaire 213 filter this is to prevent any issues with possible warranty claims. Job complete
Performed the double package cleanings. No refrigerant leaks detected and no CO detected in the air. All units are cleaned and operating properly at this time. For the older Rheem units, they are showing signs of wear, but they are still running good. However, future life expectancy cannot be garaunteed.
Performed cleanings on the furnace, AC, and fireplace. Furnace: Primary heat exchanger is starting to show signs of wear. No cracks detected. Combustion readings were a little high which means the secondary heat exchanger is possibly starting to wear out as well. Still working properly and safely. AC: No leaks detected. Electrical components tested good. Condenser is clean. Refrigerant tested good. Unit is cooling at this time. Fireplace: I got the fireplace to light after a few attempts. I cleaned the pilot assembly, wiped away and dust, replaced the embers and replaced the glass. Pilot lit on the first attempt every time after the cleaning. All HVAC equipment is operating normally and safely at this time. However, in regards to the furnace and AC, due to age and condition, we cannot guarantee long life expectancies. Another tech will be out to fix the gas leak.
Performed the level 2 AC cleaning. No leaks detected. Electrical components tested good. Capacitor tested in the required zone. Condenser was cleaned with water and nu brite. Refrigerant charge was normal. Subcool was 15° with a 16° temp split. Unit is cooling properly.
Ac clean and tune. Checked indoor coil with refrigerant sniffer. Some indications found for possible leaks. Cycled system and found condenser not running with contactor pulled. Found fuse off in fuse box. Cycled and condenser fired. Checked compressor, found compressor lower on ohms, but barely in normal range. Used coil cleaner on condenser. Hooked up gauges and checked pressures and temps. Indoor split was normal. Average life expectancy for this unit is 14 years, this system is 17 years old and showing signs of being worn. System is cooling normal at this time. Major damage to fins on condenser, small leak indications on indoor coil, and compressor low on ohms are all signs that future failure is expected. Job complete.
Arrived because furnace would not kick off. Found fan on. Turned fan on auto mode. Due to lack of maintenance I am recommending a furnace/AC clean and tune. Job complete UNPAID
Performed 1st year furnace cleaning. Did not find any issues with the furnace at this time.
Furnace clean and tune. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger, ok. Removed and cleaned burners and flame sensor. Both ok. Cleaned compartment. Checked electrical connections. Cleared drain line. Checked and adjusted gas pressures to maximize efficiency. Checked for levels of CO and XS air in exhaust, normal levels found. No CO found in airstream. System operating normal at this time. Job complete.
Performed AC start up; upon initial investigation of the system I found that the 201 filter in place was losing its fins also wanted to make note of the substantial amount of dust build up on the blower wheel this could lead to an inefficient furnace, I am including a quote for an electronic air cleaner to help bring these levels down, I did cycle the AC system on and checked pressures and temps 10 degrees of subcooling with a 18 degree temp split. This system is currently operating normal at this time job complete
Performed a start up on the furnace and the air conditioner. The furnace is running normally at this time. The air conditioner is running normally at this time.
