Upon arrival found system coming on but not cooling, checked outdoor unit and found the fan running but compressor not. Checked capacitor and found it not giving a reading on the compressor side. Lee had supplied the capacitor, changed capacitor and compressor came on. Checked amps on compressor and it was pulling 10.2/20.8. Checked Freon levels and they were good. System is now cooling properly at this time.

Upon arrival ken had stated that the outdoor unit was making a loud noise in the later part of the day and now it’s not. Turned system on and tested both first and second stage unit made no noise. I did pick up a slight rubbing noise coming from the bearings of the condenser fan motor. Disconnected compressor and ran just fan motor. When motor would cut off you can hear the rubbing. Amp draw was slowly creeping up as motor ran. Once the sun comes across that unit and heats the fan motor up the bearings start making the noise. Recommended replacing the condenser fan motor under warranty. Sent estimate to ken.

Upon arrival found system somewhat cooling. Checked inside unit and found everything operational. Noticed that the home needs more attic insulation. Checked outdoor unit and found pressures low, gave recommendations on what we can do next. Homeowner wanted to recharge system. Added 4lbs of 410-a to system to bring pressures up. Recommended a leak search and refrigerant had the potential to leak back out. System is now cooling properly at this time.
