Replaced damaged return box under air handler in garage. Suspended air handler with strapping and slide new return box under air handler. Did not remove any refrigerant at all or disconnect any wiring. Sealed all areas on return box. Ran new condensate drain outside. Tested and cycled system and system is operating properly at this time. Did not install ez traps due to garage being unconditioned space and the traps and freeze and crack, unit downstairs in high efficiency gas furnace and we don’t install ez traps on gas furnaces. Unit gravity drains into sump pump 3 feet away.
Performed preventative maintenance for three heating systems. System #1 located in the basement. Goodman furnace model #Gmec960603bnac, serial #1709461929. Upon arrival I called for heat and took a combustion analysis test and received the following readings, 02 is 7.4% and the co levels are 58ppm. I powered the system down and removed and cleaned carbon off of the flame sensor. Cleaned out the burners and burner box.Replaced the air filter size 16x24x1. Tested the drain line and condensate pump with several bottles of water to ensure that there are no leaks or clogs. Checked all electrical connections to ensure that they are secure and in good condition. The blower motor and blower wheel are clean and in good condition. I powered the system back up and called for heat. The inducer motor amp draw is within normal range and the blower motor amp draw is at 3.4. The system is operating properly at this time. Returned to find out why customers dryer isn’t working when hooked up to the vent. Upon inspection we discovered that the 4 inch pipe and vent is totally clear. The dryer was moved from the basement to the 2Nd floor and flex hose was run through the wall to the basement and connected to the hard pipe. It appears the brand new flex hose is either pinched or caught up somewhere in the wall. I was unable to test this last time as the customer had to leave before I was finished. No charge.
Note that the dryer vented out the second floor not the rooftop. Performed 2ns floor dryer vent cleaning. Dryer vent, duct, flex hose and lint trap are all clear of lint and debris at this time. Dryer is functioning properly at this time and exhaust flow is optimal. Recommend dryer vent cleaning every 1-2 years. Thank you for your business!
