Came out today for a no ac call. Upon inspection I found that the first floor system was blowing warm air. I noticed that the condenser was not operating. The contactor was pulled in but no power was going to the system. I checked the breaker and it was tripped. Reset the breaker and observed the system starting. The system would run for a bit stop then try again. I connected my gauges and noticed that the system was low on refrigerant. Roughly about 5lbs . I explained to the homeowner what was going on and he opted to charge the system and add ez seal. I added 5 lbs of 410-a refrigerant and a ez seal stick. the system needs to run for a minimum of 4 weeks for the ez seal to spread through the entire system. If the system looses charge again we will perform a leak investigation to give the homeowner a proper repair quote. The refrigerant pressures are 152/274. These are normal readings for the temperature outside today. The condenser amp draws are 12.3 for the compressor and 1.6 for

Performed air duct cleaning and sanitation on the basement system. All vents and ductwork are clear of dust and debris at this time. System is functioning properly at this time. Recommend duct cleaning every 3-4 years. Performed dryer vent cleaning. Dryer vent, duct, flex hose and lint trap are all clear of lint and debris at this time. Dryer is functioning properly at this time. Recommend dryer vent cleaning every 1-2 years. Thank you for your business!

Performed preventative maintenance for a Lennox system model #g60df-36b-090-05, serial #5804b31175. The evaporator coil’s are clean and in good condition. Tested the drain pan and drain line with several bottles of water to ensure that there are no leaks or clogs. The air filter was recently replaced by the homeowner. Checked all electrical components needed for air conditioning to ensure that they are secure and in good condition. The blower motor amp draw is within normal range. The temperature split is at a 19. The condenser coil’s are clean and in good condition. The condenser amp draws are .79 for the fan and 12.3 for the compressor. The refrigerant pressures are 154/267. These are normal readings for the temperature outside today and R-22 refrigerant. The system is operating properly at this time however the system is 18 years old and should be updated to a system that utilizes 410-A refrigerant. No Charge MA.

Came out today for a no ac call and to perform preventative maintenance for a Lennox system model #xc16-048-230-02, serial #5810k04676. Upon inspection I found that the thermostat was calling for ac, the blower would start but the condenser would not start. I noticed that the contactor was not engaged so I tested the voltage at the contactor and got a reading of 0. I tested the voltage at the control voltage wire coming out of the house and got a reading of 26volts. I bypassed the high pressure switch and the system started right up. The reset button for the high pressure switch is completely missing (see photo). Recommend replacing the high pressure switch. Performed preventative maintenance for a high efficiency Lennox system.the evaporator coil’s are clean and in good condition. Tested the drain pan, drain line and condensate pump with several cups of hot water to ensure that there are no leaks or clogs. The pure air kit has been ordered and Chud will need to return to install once

Came out today to replace the failed ECM blower motor. Disassembled the blower assembly. Found the module badly burned up in the blower module causing the motor to fail. After I replaced the blower motor I tested the system for proper operation. Performed preventative maintenance for air conditioning after repair. Inspected all the electrical components. Merv 11 air filter was replaced in March 2022. Confirmed proper high and low voltages. Tests the temperature split between the supply and return. System is operating at a 19° differential on a high humidity but 73° day. System is operating properly at this time. Recommend having preventative maintenance done seasonally in the future to prevent system failures during the season. Customer left a check for the repair since she had to leave. Left through the back door and locked the handle as asked by customer. Temperature was 78 on arrival and when I left it was down to 75 already. Set system to 72° per customer request.

Checked out attic air handler. Unit will need new over flow pan with safety switch. Will need extension for line set outside to cover with slim duct. We will need approximately 3 full lengths of slim duct with 2 couplings. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Performed preventative maintenance for two air conditioning systems. One system is in the basement and one is in the attic with pull down steps. Replaced the standard air filter for the basement system. Replaced the Merv 11 air filter for the attic system (20x25x5). Inspected all the electrical components. Confirmed proper high and low voltages. Tested the amp draw of the blowers, compressors and fan motors. All were operating within the manufacturer specs. Tested the temperature split between the supply and return. The basement system was operating at a 19° differential and the attic system operating at a 20° differential. Made sure to test the drain for the attic system since it’s has issues in the past. Ran a jug of water through the piping to make sure no clogs in the pipe. Water drained without issue during testing. Both systems are operating properly at this time.

Came out today for a thermostat not operating properly. Upon inspection I found that the thermostat needed batteries. I installed new batteries (homeowner supplied) in the thermostat. The thermostat display light up right away. I called for ac and the thermostat clicked over but the system still would not operate. I took a look at the condenser and found that the low voltage wire was damaged most likely from the gardener weed whacking. I cut out the damaged section and wired the system back to normal. After a slight time delay the system fired up right away. The system is operating properly at this time.

Quickly accessed unit, and determined that the electrical circuit still has not been repaired properly. Advised the homeowner and showed him with my multimeter that the line voltage issue is still present. Advised homeowner to contact his electrician again since the panel was just upgraded. Once we have a working 220 volt circuit, we can then diagnose any further issues with the ac system. I did not charge for this visit since I was only here for about 10-15 minutes. N/C, per PA.

Came out today for a chemical smell coming from a Lennox ac system. Model #sl280uh110v6oc-04, serial #5916f02997. Upon inspection there is a strong chemical smell coming from the return side of the blower housing. The evaporator coil’s are clean, the drain pan is clear, and the marv 16 filter was just installed in March. I verified that the blower motor is operating properly and the amp draw is a 4.2. I also verified that the transformer is not burned out. I cannot find any reason for the smell. It is possible that something fell down the return duct. I will talk to PA in the morning about the issue and will have someone from the Chud office reach out to the homeowner tomorrow.

Customer has a bypass humidifier that was constantly leaking at the humidifier water filter. Humidifier still works but we will need to replace water feed pipe, water filter and piercing valve for this humidifier. Also would like to have a small water pan (approx 12”L x 6”W) mounted off duct work and tied into humidifier drain piping to mitigate water leakage in the future. Will create estimate with pictures but will need pricing from the office for this repair. Humidifier is shutdown at this time and isn’t leaking. Customer filed claim through insurance due to water damage. Wall repairs will be done next week by general contractor. Customers blower motor for the air conditioning was also making a lot of noise when I arrived. As I was wrapping up the blower seized right in front of me. Checked the capacitor and amperage for the blower. Capacitor was recently replaced and the blower motor was giving locked rotor amperage. Furnace is from the 90s. Customer will be calling home warranty f

Performed preventative maintenance on AC system. Replaced MERV 11 16x25x5 air filter. Checked evaporator coil pan and condensate pump for proper drainage. Temperature split is at 15° with a supply air temperature of 55°. This unit has the proper refrigerant charge. Compressor-9.5 RLA Condenser fan motor-0.5 FLA. Both of these readings are within the amperage rating for this unit. System is operating properly at this time and is ready for the summer season. *Ductwork is ran poorly, noted to customer that this is why the upstairs furthest from the AC system doesn’t cool as efficiently. Opened feeds and removed window unit to help second floor cool down to proper temperature.
