Reliable, professional, reasonable

I've used Chud for years for my heating, cooling, and other such needs. Scheduling is easy and I can schedule within a reasonable time. Office staff give me actual good customer service (and I'm never on hold forever with a bot). They are open to some alternate payment options. Service techs always arrive on time, are respectful, and give me a full status report of my heating/coolng system. I strongly recommend this company.

Performed preventative maintenance for a crown boiler model #c247-400, serial #519900080. Upon arrival the system was calling for heat so I took a combustion analysis test and received the following results, 02 is at 15.3 and the co levels are at 19ppm. The water press is at 15psi and the limit is set for 190°F. There are no signs of leaks in the copper pipes. I powered the system down and removed and cleaned the burners and burner box. I powered the system back up and called for heat. Observed the system start normally. I let the system run until it teach the desired temp. The system is operating properly at this time.

Performed preventative maintenance for a high efficiency Lennox furnace model #EL195UH110P48C-01, serial #5910M22351. Upon arrival the system was calling for heat. I took a combustion analysis test and received the following readings, o2 is 8.8% and the co levels are 9ppm. The supply temp is 140°F. The inducer motor amp draw is 1.95 and the blower motor amp draw is 4.6. I powered the system down removed and cleaned carbon off of the flame sensor and cleaned out the burners and burner box. Checked the pressure switch for clogs and cleaned out the trap. Tested the drain line and condensate pump with several bottles of water to ensure that there are no leaks or clogs. The Merv filter was replaced in the spring. Checked all electrical connections to ensure that they are secure and in good condition. I powered the system back up and checked for proper operation. Came out today to install a new condensate pump, 30 feet of vinyl tubing, perform preventative maintenance and humidifier service. I removed the old condensate pump and vinyl tubing and installed a new pro select condensate pump. Ran new 3/8 vinyl tubing from the condensate pump to the utility sink. Performed preventative maintenance for a high efficiency Lennox system model #EL296UH110XV60C-05, serial #5915D04887. I powered the system down and removed the access panels. Came out to do preventative and within a few minutes found the tubing and pump totally clogged with what looks to be drywall dust and debris or some type of sludge. Gave homeowner quote to replace tubing. Did not have enough materials to get the work completed today. Maintenance services will be completed at the time of repair. N/C today. Will collect full balance on completion when we can properly test the system.

Preventative maintenance on Lennox gas furnace. Intermittent pressure switch issue (E223) due to small amount of sediment build up on inducer port. Cleared port, pulled/cleaned flame sensor, verified proper amperage on inducer and indoor blower motor. *Homeowner changes own MERV 11 (X6670) 16x25x5 filters. Homeowner also has a power humidifier that they have turned off, and do not have an interest in using due to past drainage issues. Combustion analysis completed CO PPM 10, temp rise verified at 49 degrees in 2nd stage. System is operating properly and ready for the season. Lennox M#SL280UH090V36B-03, S#5911M09699 (MERV 11-16x25x5 customer changes own) Advised homeowner to contact Wissahickon Valley Sweep for chimney inspection and cleaning.

Return visit for the same issue. High pressure fault. Reset sensor. Checked capacitor (70+10MFD) and it is still good. Amperage on condenser fan is 1.0, rated for 1.7. Amperage on compressor is 14.2, rated for 21.79. The refrigerant pressures on arrival were within range 336/124, however it did observe (1) spike in head pressure to about 400 PSI, then system pressures leveled back out. The subcooling is high at 22 degrees, superheat good at 14 degrees. ***Note that sealant and 4 lbs were added on 05/23/19 and charge has not been touched since that date.*** Based on the numerous high pressure strikes, the device may actually be the issue. I will follow up with homeowner with a quote to install a new sensor and we will monitor the issue from there. Refrigerant charge will be checked again as well. New MERV 16-16x25x5 filter installed in May of 2022. Lennox M#XC13-048-230-04, S#5810L10778.

Recommend performing condenser coil cleaning. The system has Tripp the high pressure switch. This is due to dirty condenser coils. Cleaning cannot be performed until peco removes the box they have attached to the side panel. See photos. Performed condenser coil cleaning for a Lennox system. Turned power off to the system and removed all side panels. Cleaned coils using proper chemical solution. Re installed the side panels and turned the power back on. I observed the system starting normally.the system is operating properly at this time.

Came out today for for a Lennox condenser not turning on. Model #xc1304823004, serial #5810L10778. Upon inspection I found that the indoor unit would turn on and call for ac but the condenser would not turn on. I found the high pressure switch tripped. I connected my gauges, reset the high pressure switch and checked the air filter. I turned the system back on and noticed the high side pressure rising. The condenser coil’s are severely clogged and dirty. This is causing the system to trip the high pressure switch. Condenser coil cleaning con not be performed due to a peco box being attached to the outside (panel see photo). The homeowner will have to reach out to peco and have them remove or relocate the box so Chud can remove the side panel and perform condenser coil cleaning. Once the coils are clean the high side pressure should come down.

Returned to complete drain repair to existing Unico style air handler. Installed a new “EZ TRAP” that will provide water protection should the gravity drain line back up or get clogged. The safety switch will shut the unit down, preventing water from leaking through the ceiling. Upon inspection of the coil, placed pan treatment tablets inside to prevent future clogs. Replaced a blown fuse as well. Filter (Pure Air Kit X8795) is due for replacement next season. Thoroughly tested the drain for proper pitch and drainage. Issue was originally diagnosed on 06/13/22 and homeowner paid the emergency diagnostic fee. Today’s charges are strictly for parts and labor to make repairs. Unico M#MC4860CX, S#1002A25243 (cooling module), M#M4860BL1-EC2, S#1007A257666 (blower module) Filter-Pure Air Kit X8795 (Lennox P/N). ***Note-Attic Unit, no ladder required, has decking/flooring.***

Came out to water leaking out of the condensate line. This is an old unit , pipe was leaking and was replaced . After putting in a new trap and testing it the male adapter going into the evaporator coil pan was cracked. This needed to be replaced but the female side was damaged and could not have anything thread into it. Chud will have to come back and re assess what will need to be done to repair or replace the unit. Fuse on the control board was blown when disconnecting the old safety switch from the ez trap and will also have to be replaced. Lennox condenser- S#5810F17383 M#XC16-060-230-02
