The GOOD: The technician was very professional and seemed to know what he was doing. He explained what needed to be fixed and told my husband a price. My husband agreed and the tech went to get a part and then came back when he said he would. THE NOT GOOD: I woke up in the middle of the night and realized we had no heat. I waited a few more hours and got up and investigated. I tried the thermostat. No furnace on. I then went downstairs and turned on basement fireplace (which had a switch replaced by the technician). While the fireplace turned on, it did not stay on. Tried it a few more times. Same result. I then went into furnace room and looked at the furnace. I read the instructions that had been left by a previous company for troubleshooting and found the off/on switch where the instructions said they were. Turned the switch and the furnace kicked on. Technician had not turned the furnace on before he left. So, nothing was left/completed the way it should have been. I will be calling to have you back out to fix the issue with the fireplace.

Today I came to Lauren and Ryan’s Chestermere home to evaluate the aged hydronic heating that is in poor condition. Upon inspection of the 25 year old system I found the exhaust venting is rusted completely through. This is extremely dangerous and needs to be addressed immediately. The boiler itself has heat exchanger corrosion and needs to be cleaned. If a failure is found after cleaning, a new boiler will be required. The system services an indirect tank, 1 zone of basement under slab heating and 1 zone of main floor under floor heating which is never used. When the under slab loop comes on I can hear air in the system indicating the auto air vents are no longer functioning. The furnace is also 25 years old and there is a high likelihood there is a failure in the heat exchanger. It is my professional opinion that both systems should be replaced however with Lauren and Ryan having plans for a possible home move in the near future, I will also include repair options. Today I came to Emily’s home on Dawson way to perform the annual plumbing inspection. During the evaluation I noticed the Home is 2 years old and plumbing appears to be in great condition. Frost free hose Bibb is cracked and needs to be replaced. System is missing softener to prevent damage to fixtures from hard water. Water pressure is currently sitting at 60 psi. Recommended replacing hose Bibb and installing a softener. Client will think and get back to us about the hose Bibb. Water heater has been flushed as a courtesy service today. Clients are happy with the service provided and would be happy to leave myself with a 5 star google review.

Tech came out today to perform annual AC inspection. Tech tested air flow and refrigerant levels. System working well. The weather is very windy and raining so the electrical components could not be check safely. Temperature is currently 34f outside. Client thanked us for coming out

Ryan and his dad recently put in a soaker tub and was worried about the drainage as it leaked the last time. Because everything was hooked up and completed Lauren went with the standard plumbing diagnostic. I ran the tub for 5-10 mins and observed the drainage. The way the ptrap was installed was a little crooked but still holding water. After that I filled the tub up and drained the water. Still no leaks. After doing a free health and safety inspection I noticed Lauren and Ryan’s boiler was very old and a huge safety concern with the venting for the floor mounted boiler. Exhaust from the boiler is spilling out into the mechanical room and needs to be looked at asap. My supervisor will meet with Ryan and Lauren on Friday when they can both be there. Water pressure is a perfect 70 psi. Lauren is very happy with the service I provided today.

I attended roberts chestermere home to perform a tuneup on his ductless split and take a look at his boiler as it seemed to be leaking. I found a small puddle of glycol on the floor under the boiler but was unable to see where it was coming from. Fired the boiler but could not find any leaking. Robert will keep an eye on it and see if it leaks any more. The ductless split is working very well without any issues. Robert decided to get a years worth of plan service for his boiler and ac system.
