Had a couple guys out to replace AC unit yesterday. They were great, friendly and didn't mind our dogs at all. Got the job done quickly and explained how to work the new thermostats and other general care info.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Found the system out of state code. Installed locking caps to bring unit back up to code. Also homeowner stated their humidifier was not operating. Checked system and found the system not even hooked up, this was due to previous company who installed the new system. Talked about hooking up system or replacing with a new humidifier. All other recommendations declined at this time.

Air distribution system is starting to get dirty reducing airflow and efficiency. Flame safety is testing out of manufacture range. Inducer motor is making excessive noises and sounds to be failing. Customer explained how system was making loud noises. Had customer bring me to unit and turned it on and pointed out the noise she heard. The noise is coming from the compressor once it goes into second stage cooling. Compressor is starting to mechanically fail. Refrigerant levels are also dropping again. Also found mechanical room wet from drain line on ac blocked. Swapped drain line with new. Due to age and condition, replacement is encouraged. Will have Chris come out 9-19-22 to quote replacement.

Ac appears to be overcharged with refrigerant. This can causing high inefficiency and possible flooding of large components. Due to systems age, I do encourage replacement. Ac was not operating upon arrival, after further diagnostics I found that the ac motor booster has failed. I removed and replaced the motor booster for an upgraded version and then started the ac up again. The ac started up right away, I then performed further diagnostics and found that everything is up and operating properly as of now.
Ac was not operating upon arrival, after assessing the unit I noticed that there was frost on the indoor line set. After testing the system out I found that the ac is low on refrigerant and therefore cannot cool the house down properly. With the age of the system and the current issues, I do highly recommend looking into replacement of the entire system. Customer noted he would like to think over his options for this weekend.
Performed whole home plumbing inspection. Flushed water heater. Checked anode rod. Tested water quality. Found the basement toilet to be running.

Would recommend vent screens, this will prevent cridders from entering furnace. Would recommend drain pan treatment, this will prevent biological growth inside cooling coil. Would recommend a surge protector to prevent damage to ac if a power surge occurs. Lastly would recommend start assist, this gives a jumpstart to compressor when turning on, allows compressor to last longer. Customer would like to hold off on additional services at this time.
