Performed furnace maintenance on 2007 Payne heater. During the maintenance I noticed a few points and concerns that were brought up with the homeowner although he did decline that the heat exchanger is not pulled and tested. Furnace- 1. Measured a 80° Temperature rise Within the system when the rated specification temperature rise is 30-60 degrees. This is an indication of serious overheating and will trigger the high limit to trip once it reaches top temperatures. Due to the temperature is being so high it is recommended that the heat exchanger is verified to be in good condition and is safe for operation. With such a high temperature rise there is a highly likely chance the heat spot formed And had caused the metal to expand and contract. 2. indoor blower motor was heavily covered in dust and debris due to 1 inch filter is not being swapped out enough.
