Performed AC diagnostic on 2016 carrier condensing unit. Upon my diagnostic I found that the condenser fan motor and compressor off when calling for cooling inside. Further investigation show that the secondary motor control was blown on the hermetic and fan side terminals. This is ultimately caused due to high amperage pull from the compressor and fan. Basically the equipment was working so hard on a hot day this component and gave out. Added a new secondary motor control system is fully operational and cooling house 5 ton Carrier- 1. Secondary motor control blown and not starting system. 2. Found condenser fan motor leaking oil from bearing 3. Compressor is pulling high amperage on start up 4. Disconnect had no surge protection or fuses inside of it Recommendations- 1. Replace secondary motor control with new one 2. Replacing condenser fan motor under warranty 3. Install compressor saver kit to reduce lock rotor amps and increase longevity of compressor
