Arrived on site to diagnose no cooling 2002 unit. Spoke to client and she stated unit is just blowing cold air and out side dose not run. Cycled unit and inside was operational and outside unit Compressor was not turning on. Inspected electrical and found primary burnt up on contact points. Secondary control was bad and why compressor was not turning on. Had to use booster kit to help jump start unit and so replaced bad part and added booster kit to turn unit on to inspect system. System was operational and found start up high. Run amps were pulling 15 and max rated at 21 advised it’s cold outside and on a really hot summer days system may be over amping which is draining life of secondary control. Fan motor is bad and bearings are seizing up and leaking so much oil. Motor is gunna fail in future and recommend replacing. Checked pressure and are good and cooling at 18 degrees. Unit uses r-22 and is no longer in production. Went over all findings and repairs and recommendations Who
