Arrived on site to diagnose a 2004 system that is not cooling. Client moved in 5 years ago and thought system was from 2010. He also stated he opens up unit as I arrived to unit opened up and top and panel and electrical compartment as he tried to trouble shoot as he knows basic of this and his buddy advised him of a couple thing to check and found breaker was tripped. He would try and trouble shoot and manually pushed in primary control and system would short out. Inspected electrical connections and components. Started isolating components at a t time and found out compressor is bad as it keeps shorting out breaker switch. Advised client due to the high voltage the compressor is the only thing that could Tripp breaker cause of the short and high amount of voltage that is used. Went over all findings and repairs and recommendations with client. Client is aware of what was going on and issues with system.
