Performed heating maintenance on 2 year old Amana system. Replaced filter with new MERV 8 filter. Cleaned return grate. Flushed condensate drain with water. Secured loose insulation on return duct with panduit strap. Added PVC breather to existing condensate drain so it was above the coil condensate pan. Inspected blower compartment and found the blower wheel to be clean and balanced. Checked electrical connections. Tested resistance of hot surface igniter. Measured external static pressure and found it to be high at .98â€WC, this is due to the inefficiently designed ductwork that is currently in place. Temperature rise is within limits. Found that the gas line does not have a sediment trap in place. Without this moisture can make its way to the gas valve and possibly lead to improper operation. Cristy, Ron and I talked about upgrading their system by adding a MERV filter cabinet so they could utilize a 5†filter. Not only would this keep the air in their home cleaner,
