Arrived on site to perform diagnostic on 2003 Goodman unit. Met with tenant, who is brother of homeowner. States system is not cooling. His new dog chewed up his thermostat wire to outdoor condenser, which is why the system is not turning on. Advised have to fix wiring before doing anything else. Repaired low voltage wire, added a small piece of PVC pipe to run wires through so dog can’t chew them anymore. Disconnect box is missing front cover to protect From water. Ensured that no fuses were blown, cycled system for cooling. System came on and started cooling. Refrigerant pressures are within range. Amp draws on compressor and condenser motor are high and inefficient. Secondary motor control has burning and pitting at contact points. Temperature split is within range. Indoor wheel is dirty. Blower is also leaking oil. Went over findings and recommendations. Needs to go over everything with his brother, only wants immediate repair for today. System is operational upon departure. Lo
