When I arrived at furnace, I was told to inspect system. The furnace had its gas turned off yesterday from gas company. Gas company found two leaks in the gas valve and through cracked glass lens. Owner wanted to know if anything on unit is replaceable and fixable. The unit is old and can’t be restored in parts. The parts in system exceed past 40 years. I smelled gas all around unit when I turned it on. Gas valve is shut off for safety reasons. Supervisor is coming over to speak about potential replacement options. Charging for diagnostic only today.
