Arrived on site to diagnose a no cooling 2005 Goodman units. Condenser are both located in attic. Spoke over with client and he stated up stairs unit as it is not cooling. Cycled unit and airflow was producing just warm. Out for unit operating advised I would inspect out side and doo a system evaluation as well to ensure no other issues are present. Inspected upstairs electrical compartment and found compressor wires leads to have been burnt and melted off. Compressor is working hard and pulling a lot of amps causing wire leads from compressor to melt off. advised finding and would further evaluate system. Inspected all components. Found primary starter burnt up on contact points. Secondary motor control was completely bad on compressor. Client is aware system are old as in past 2 years he’s been told system is on borrowed time and could cause issues or fail at any time. Blower motor is leaking oil and is original to system.
