Customer has a 8+ year old water heater that is at the hot setting which is the factory recommended setting. When you test the heat at the fixtures in the home you get scalding hot water from the heater, this issue has gradually gotten worse over the past 4 months according to the customer. This issue is the tank is filling up with sediment and the sold debris is tricking the gas control into thinking the water is not hot enough. The temperature coming from the water heater is a danger to the product as well as all the cartridges and fixtures in the home, and will degrade these products over time. The water heater seen in the picture is also not installed up to code. Drip pan does not not go onto the concrete floor but onto the wood stand right next to there hvac heating unit. There is no thermal expansion tank which at the temperatures coming off the unit would help fight that added thermal pressure. The gas valve is original and there is no dirt leg installed.
