This morning, I diagnosed and remedied performance issues with a Goodman central air conditioning system at a local residence in Prosper, Texas. The homeowner had reported the unit was running excessively without adequately cooling the home. My inspection revealed the condenser coils had accumulated substantial dirt and debris buildup, significantly impacting airflow and system efficiency. I began by thoroughly cleaning the condenser coils using a specialized commercial coil cleaner and a soft-bristle brush. I then replaced the MERV 8 air filter in the system. With these maintenance tasks completed, the air conditioner is now operating at its optimal capacity, cycling properly and providing the expected cooling comfort for the home.
