Service call that the AC was not working. Upon arrival, found system turned off. Turned system on to test. Found Blower and Outdoor Fan Motors running but the compressor was not running. Dual capacitor on the system had failed. Installed a dual capacitor to get system operating to test. Compressor would not turn on. After further examination of the unit, found the Run Terminal wiring on the compressor was burned and charred. Also found the terminal lead on the Compressor Run Winding is damaged and cannot be repaired. Turned power off to the Outdoor Unit and put the disconnect in the Off Position. Left indoor blower fan running to circulate air in the house. The terminal lead has broken off and the pin has damage from the wiring that overheated and burned apart. Due to the condition of the system replacement of the system is required. The office will call to schedule a Comfort Consultant visit.
