Service call that the Oil Furnace was not working. Upon arrival found system turned off. Homeowner informed me that he recently replaced the Oil Filter and Oil Pump and coupling. Put system in operation to test. Furnace was coming on and attempting to light, but would shut down after not igniting. Inspected components and found Oil Nozzle completely clogged and Electrodes very worn. Replaced Electrodes and set positioning. Installed new Oil Nozzle and cleaned assembly. Put system in operation to test. Performed Combustion Test, Draft Test, and Smoke test. Replaced 16x24x1 Air Filter provided by the homeowner. Temperature rise of Heater is very high. Measured a 110 Degree temperature rise. Supply duct work is undersized which would cause the higher splits. Cycled system to ensure it was firing properly. Would recommend a full maintenance being performed on the system. Furnace is about 25 Years old. Due to age, would recommend replacement of the Furnace.
