I am EXTREMELY glad I called Dibiase Heating & Cooling

Where do I begin? Well, originally when I made my appointment, I had to cancel the appointment just a day or two after due to an unexpected business trip... Later I found out that my trip was canceled and realized that my HVAC system still needed repair... I called Dibiase to see if there was any available appointments, fortunately they put my original appointment on "hold" and was able to release the hold and keep my original appointment date & time! This was great because it was in the middle of summer and it wasnt getting any cooler sooner or later! Kurt was my tech. Prior to the day of my appointment, i received a text message reminder to keep me on track... On the day of the appointment, i received another text to let me know Kurt was on his way, not just give me a "window" of the time expected like other companies...I was able to track track Kurt's distance through the text message link showing me where he was... Kurt arrived as scheduled, dressed professionally and wore safety mask, covered shoes and respected my home as if it was his own... Kurt asked me what my expectations were and I explained to him the details... Prior to performing the work, he explained to me in simple terminology and answered all my questions... Shortly afterwards, Kurt went to work and started to perform the task in hand... Here's where I knew I made a good choice in calling Dibiase... Kurt was prompt. He spoke to me in a professional manor and explained to me simple terms what the process was. He showed me the current condition of my system and made recommendations... And he made a statement that really hit home, "the tech that built your system did a great job"..."I didn't find anything wrong with your system and everything seems to be fine"...I was really impressed that he didnt try to down play my original tech and try to sell me something I didnt need or service me for something unnecessary... Kurt made feel comfortable and I felt that I could trust Dibiase/Kurt... It's hard to know if you are being scammed into buying or paying for a service... My entire interaction from start to finish with Dibiase & Kurt was excellent! I am so satisfied with making this decision, I will keep Dibiase as my new HVAC service company and always ask for Kurt to service my home. Thank you for being an honest business and employing honest professionals! You have a customer for life!

Found furnace locked out on (4 flash) open high limit error. [Hard lockout] 20x25x1 Filter was very dirty. Checked error code history and all limits including the 2 blower limits. Replaced filter with a 16x25x1 filter which covers the cutout of furnace. I didn’t have a 20x25x1 on the truck. Homeowner agreed to plan membership and diagnostic today. Completed heat tune up under new plan. Inspected burners. Made recommendation for upgrade. Cleaned flame sensor with 0000 steel wool. Verified flame rectification circuit. Measure temperature rise and static pressure: Good Checked gas pressure. Manifold pressure slightly low, adjusted accordingly. Inspected drain and safties. There is a float style pan switch and a evaporator pan secondary switch. Condensate pump safety is not wired in. Left estimate. Inspected wiring, components, electric motors and components. There are no surge protection devices. Left email estimates. Combustion, smoke and draft tests: Pass System is operating well

Arrived to find cause of whistling and chattering, found the filter was 100% blocked, changed filter and noise went away, went to start doing the ac maintenance and it started making the chattering again, checked system found blower wheel is very dirty and sounds like it’s off balance slightly and the motor has some shaft play. Checked blower motor capacitor, checked blower motor amp draw, checked all electrical connections and components, checked compressor amp draw, checked condenser fan motor amp draw, checked dual capacitor, checked refrigerant pressures.

Heat Tune Up for 75KBTU propane furnace. Replaced filter. Checked gas pressure. Checked static pressure (ductwork). Measured temperature rise. Inspected burner and heat exchanger. Measured hot surface ignitor resistance and looked for cracks/hot spots during start up. Checked heat exchanger. Checked all electric motors and components. Found weak 10uF blower capacitor. Combustion/draft test: Good Also checked outdoor dual capacitor found weak 45-5 uF capacitor. Encouraged homeowner to replace both capacitors. Explained that if blower capacitor fails system will not operate at all. Homeowner decided to replace 10uF blower capacitor; paid for plan membership. Furnace is operating well at the time of this maintenance.

Heat Tune Up for. Ton Ruud Heat Pump. Checked refrigerant data. Checked temperature split. Checked thermostat operation. Checked all electric motors and components. Checked condensate pump and drain. Custom size filters are dirty. Could not find filters on site. Called owner and informed them that filter should be changed soon. They plan to build a room soon and may need us to add a return to new room. Heat pump is operating safely at design conditions at the time of this maintenance.

Found luxaire heat pump system set at 67 degrees and it was maintaing 67 degrees. Checked 410a refrigerant pressures at 86 degrees. Pressures were 324/124 with 10 subcooling. System is working fine. Talked to Jonathan about the issue and he said when he woke up this morning it was set to 68 and it was 70 degrees. Told him to monitor it but system is probably ok. Also let him know that when we hit the 90’s with high humidity the system may not be able to achieve 68 degrees. System is working fine at time of service.

Performed precision a/c tune up on 2 luxaire heat pump systems. (1) 20x25x1 air filter was just replaced for second floor system. Replaced (1) 20x25x1 air filter for first floor heat pump system. Checked all electrical conections and components. Blew out condensate drain. Recommend installing an ez trap for second floor air handler. Also while I was on site, the second floor heat pump started making the high pitched noise Jonathan had described before. Found that after the second floor system satisfied the call, the reversing valve was making a loud whistling noise. Recommend to him that we first try lubricating both systems with a product called a/c renew. Recommend we put this in both systems. Also tested capacitors at both outdoor units. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures at indoor and outdoor units. Both heat pumps are working fine in a/c mode. Found reversing valve for second floor heat pump making a loud noise when pressures equalized, this can help lubricate interna

Talked to homeowner about squealing noise from one of the heat pumps outside. After talking to homeowner he had mentioned that squealing noise occurs very intermittently and in heating mode and sometimes in cooling mode during the summer. Told him that probably the best way of getting a better idea what the issue is and which unit it is, is to record the heat pump as it is making the “ tea kettle whistle sound.” He mentioned this issue occurs for a few minutes when unit shuts down. Last time they heard the whistle noise was about 2 weeks ago. Ran both heat pumps in heating mode and waited till they shut down, did not have any abnormal noise when both heat pumps stopped. Also observed both outdoor fan motors while they were running and did not have any abnormal wobble in the fan blades. Both systems are working fine at time of inspection.

Performed Precision Heating Tune Up on Ruud Heat Pump System. Checked Air Filters. Filters were recently changed and in good condition. Inspected Electrical components on Air Handler and on outdoor unit. The Capacitors on the on the Outdoor Unit were testing within rating. The Start Capacitor has some corrosion forming. Recommend replacement of the Starting Capacitor and Starting Relay to prevent any issues with the Compressor. Tested Auxiliary Heat Kit and measured amp draw on elements. Measured Refrigerant charge on system. Verified Refrigerant charge with manufacturer specifications. Measured Air Temperatures on system. Included Estimate for the replacement of the Starting Components. Would recommend having this replaced during the Spring tune up to prevent any issues during the summer.
