Service call that the Heat Pump was not working. Customer informed me that he had a power outage this morning and the system was not working after the power came back on. Upon arrival found Trane Heat Pump system with Trane Thermostat. System was calling for heat but no voltage for heat was present at the air handler. Checked settings on thermostat and found system had reverted back to default settings and thermostat was setup for a gas furnace system. Reprogrammed and tested system. Due to those thermostats having an internal power capacitor to save memory which goes bad, recommended installing a new Thermostat to prevent any further issues since area is prone to power outages. Installed a Honeywell T6 Pro Thermostat for Heat Pump Application. Programmed thermostat and put system into operation. Tested operation of Heat Pump and Auxiliary Heat. Reviewed thermostat operation with homeowner upon completion.
