Found water pressure coming into home spiking at over 120 psi. Measured water pressure at both where the water comes into the home and at the water heater both were pegging the gauge at over 120 psi. Recommend to homeowner to install a pressure reducing valve on the 1†copper main. While I was there on site homeowner contacted his neighbor and the neighbor said that they have pressure reducing valves installed at the street to feed the homes. Recommend to homeowner to contact the water supply company to have this pressure issue addressed. Let homeowner know that this can damage the water heaters relief valve and other plumbing fixtures inside the home if let un- addressed. Homeowner will contact the water company at this point.
