Called out for no cool, homeowner stated condenser fan would not operate and compressor would hum. Found breaker to AC tripped, reset and unit started to operate. Start assist is within range for both hermetic/fan. Amp draws are steady but fan has substantial overheating marks on motor and compressor has failed megohmeter test indicating insulation value for compressor is severely compromised. Unit is currently operating but is 24 yrs old, R22 and is having serious quality of life issues. Scheduled service manager to go over replacement options for full system tomorrow between 9-10.
