I chose to use a local business that I have several contracts with in the purchase of a new furnace. After spending $8,500 I wish I had kept my 31 year old that worked fine. Just 2 months and a nightmare installation debacle later, and now a zone board that should have been replaced with new furnace (I was never given option would have said yes) but wasn’t, has heated house to 106 degrees consuming 1/4 tank of oil, was replaced , then , I spent another stressful day with no heat on a bitter cold day since it was the wrong board. Once again, pleading for a technician and being told I should just wait quietly as directed and it would get fixed. Except it didnt. Now I have to spend 4 days awaiting order of new zone panel that will actually synchronize and work with mine, hopefully! The technicians like Noah are very nice. Except for Nicole and Margaret I was treated rudely by the Customer service and office staff who think it is their duty to treat customers who support their business with much disrespect letting them know they are being a nuisance. No empathy here folks!

I had a recurring problem with sewage backup that other firms did not diagnose / fix correctly. Finished ac/heat pump installation. Started up system.
Disconnect solar heater and repipe small 3/4†copper. Customer wanted old solar water heating system bypassed. Water test conducted: Hardness at 17gpg, ph 7.0, tds 333, iron undetectable Estimate provided for water softener / well water Customer is interested in HVAC providing an estimate for an on demand water heater (propane).
This is to replace well control box Folkes arrived on 01/16/2022 for a no water. Upon arrival I started by checking a few things. I started with the filter and that wasn’t the issue. I checked the fuses and that also wasn’t the issue.I then replaced the control and the pump turned back on. I also tested the pump and it is testing ok at this time but may need to be replaced due to the control being from the 80s. I left estimates to replace everything and the customer will get back to us. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.

Found primary control intermittently tripping system. Replaced primary control and let boiler reach set temp. Stayed at this call from 9:30 am to 12:15 ensure boiler was firing up and turning off by itself without tripping.

Folkes arrived on 01/11/2022 for a plumbing inspection. Upon arrival I went into the home and tested the water every looks to be okay at this time. I then proceed to check the kitchen faucet and the drain, there are no issues at this time. I then checked the well tank and the water treatment system. I recommended replacing the softener in the future as well as upgrading the well when it comes time to do that. I then checked the 2 1/2 baths in the house. There are some issues with the bathtub faucet which the customer doesn’t want to address at this time. Other then that everything is working properly at this time. The home is working properly at this time. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.

Upon arrival found water on floor at boiler. Found bladder in expansion tank bursted and filled with water blowing relief valve. Replaced tank and relief valve and found water feeder not feeding. Replaced water feeder and purged system free of air.
Found heat pump and furnace not energizing. Dual fuel system with a conventional zoning panel. Need to install dual fuel zoning panel with outdoor air temperature sensor. To lock out heat pump and certain temp. Set system for emergency heat so customer could use heat rest of weekend.
Arrived and found the temperature in the house at 86 degrees with the system still running. Thermostats were set to 67 degrees and not calling for heat. Found on the EWC board the W1 red light on all the dampers open. Once I took the R wire off the control board in the furnace the power turned off at the EWC and the system shut down. Reset the system and it did not happen again. Tested the wires going to the equipment for short which I did not find any. Spoke with another technician to see if they have had this issue with the EWC boards. This is the first hes scene a relay get stuck and constantly call for heat. Need to replace the EWC board which was not replaced during the install of the system. Replaced and tested the system.
