Our old A/C unit was not working. Folkes sent out a technician the next day. He was professional and explained everything. Unfortunately it was not able to be fixed and they sent someone to give us an estimate. He was wonderful at explaining the process, what we needed and what our options were. We ended up replacing our system and the technicians at Folkes were courteous and professional. They put in long hours to get the job done and made sure they kept the the areas they had to walk through and work clean. I would definitely recommend them!
After some debate about an anode today that did not exist in our indirect water heater, we used bleach to hopefully kill the bacteria that is causing the sulfur odor in the hot water. Wishing it will be gone with the wind.
Technician was very knowledgeable and experienced with the service being provided also very friendly and easy to talk with
Kurt & Chris are the BEST ! Kurt explained everything to me and worked with Chris to fix my furnace. When you call for service ask for them !
After calling our usual company about a loud rumbling from our furnace, and being put off until Tuesday, I decided to take advice and give Folkes a try - I’m so glad I did, and so grateful for the fast, efficient service. We signed up for the service plan, a part will be ordered and replaced next week, and the furnace seems to be running much better in the meantime with no noise and no more smell (our furnace is old and Italian - a great furnace but uncommon and nobody keeps parts on hand). I was so grateful for the rapid response, they were here ahead of the promised time, and they couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. It was a great experience, the price was reasonable, and I really couldn’t be happier. Thank you Folkes!

Arrived at customers home for complaint of sulfur smell in hot water. Tested water found very slight trace of sulfur. Flush hot water heater with bleach from whole house filter housing and flushed out lines. Recommended to customer he add a mixing valve above hot water heater so he can run the heater at 140 as manufacture recommends for a smell of sulfur but can drop it back down to 120 with mixing valve for safety.
Found system for apartment over garage empty of refrigerant. 20 year old R22 system. Recommended replacement. Customer also has another system for main house that needs replacement. Replacement estimate scheduled for June 16th.
Found blower spinning extremely low RPM causing coil to freeze up and causing suction pressure to be low. Replaced motor checked system running and temperatures. System running and operational.
Performed annual maintenance on air conditioning system. Inside noticed some mold build up on blower wheel and wires which I showed customer will think about possibly doing a UV light. Outside condenser noticed refrigeration levels very low will reschedule to do a leak test.
Clean and service Oil
Completed annual maintenance on 2 ac systems. Cleared drains and traps. Cleaned coils. Didn’t take pressures due to temp. Recommend us light in basement unit. Recommend replacement of both ac systems as per r22. Recommend blower motor cleaning.
Checked operation of oil boiler. Took combustion and efficiency test. All readings normal, 0% smoke. Opened boiler, no soot on sections. Boiler still very clean. There is some soot failing down flue onto boiler. Chimney needs to be cleaned after major sooted boiler cleaning.
