Diego and Jonny were a great team, they arrived on time, were very pleasant and answered all questions I had. A complicated replacement job was completed smoothly in a day. Work looks fantastic, we couldn’t be more pleased.
David was very professional and courteous. The cost to repair was extremely high. No fault of David's. Folks said the gas valve replacement would be $580 or so with installation, then taxes. The cost would be around $625. The valve itself cost $100 at a retail price.
Great customer service by tech

Installed peerless oil fired boiler with Beckett burner and indirect storage tank, all new components required by boiler installation, pipping and wiring as needed for a 3 zone valve system.
Cleaned and serviced oil boiler. The customer had the relief valve leaking a bit and she did notice it. Went through the boiler, brushed and vacuumed the heat exchanger. Changed the filter, strainer and nozzle. The relief valve went bad due to corrosion, also the two air vents are nit working properly as well. The antifreeze in the system does eat away at these components quickly, recommended to put an inhibitor in the system as well to help this. Made all recommended repairs and tested the system after. System is operational.

Folkes arrived on 10/13/2021 for a clogged line. Customer ran water for approximately 5 mins and started to back up. Customer also stated that the tank wasn’t pumped in 30 years. I recommended pumping the tank to see if that resolves the issue. If that doesn’t resolve the issue to call us back to snake the line. The customer is satisfied and I thanked him for choosing folkes and left.
Arrived and the customer stated no heat or hot water. Went to the boiler and found there was a call for hot water. The boiler was nit receiving the call to the fan center relay. Found a lot of corrosion on the low water cut off sensor and on the controls. When I was testing and moving the wiring in there the boiler started. Recommended to replace the low water cut off, the customer was with me the whole time diagnosing the issue. Went over two options with her, with or without a maintenance agreement but the customer denied repairs at this time. Explained that there is no guarantee it’ll continue working and most likely it’ll fail soon. The customer said she would think about the repair. Emailed the estimates to the customer and collected the diagnostic fee.
Oil tank gauge is reading empty on oil tank, tank is not empty, also oil line has a Fern Co couplings on line, and it should be only black pipe, need to follow up with price to replace oil tank gauge and repair black pipe oil line. Also recommended replacing Aquastat on boiler due to humming noise and board feeling extremely hot. Also recommended residential replacement on boiler due to age and wear & tear.
Arrived and found the boiler not circulating due to air in the water lines. We need to repipe the entire boiler. Went over this with the customer and the service manager. Our service manager will give pricing in the morning.

When I arrived I was getting ready to test shower temperature, but I was advised that no hot water at all was available at any faucet. When I went to inspect boiler room discovered circulator pump had failed. When I discussed about filled circulator pump with customer he notified me that Bottini had replaced it in August. And I explain to the customer he should probably call Bottini and have them come back on the warranty. He called Bottini while I was there they are coming to look into it.
Folkes arrived on 10/11/2021 for a clogged main line. Upon arrival customer stated that there was water coming out of the standpipe for the washer. I started by camera the line from the clean out and the customer dug up the tank and noticed that there were solids clogging the inlet of the tank. The customer is going to have the tank pumped and get back to us if there are any issues. I then let the customer know to be careful using the water until the tank is pumped. I then thanked the customer for choosing folks and left.
