Our furnace failed on a freezing (of course!) December Sunday (of course!). Noah was at our door within an hour of our call, fixed the problem and was gone within an hour! He was polite and explained everything to us before he left. The next day I called to schedule a regular service since it had been awhile. David arrived on time within the timeframe promised. He also was very polite and explained everything that he did during the service. He put me completely at ease knowing everything was working perfectly before he left. I also felt that the price was reasonable, so much so, that I made the decision to bring them on for a one year contract! Nice job... Thank you!

Customer had boiler cleaned back in October, which looks like they only changed the nozzle and left, pulled chimney piping off boiler and boiler is very dirty hence why customer is seeing soot flakes around boiler, boiler is not sooted up completely just very dirty, pulled nozzle assembly which burner head and nozzle were pretty clean, customers oil company never performed a combustion test on unit, boiler just needs to be cleaned.
Arrived and the customer stated the boiler wasn’t working early. He hit the aquastat twice when this happened and it started. The relay in the aquastat may be getting weak. We replaced this last year but the customer supplied the part. The customer wanted it replaced even though it was working at this time. Replaced and tested the system, it is operational at this time. May be another issue since the system was operating upon arrival.
Flushed steam boiler several times. Also added steam boiler cleaner to system. Replaced steam vents in dining room and first floor bathroom. Ran system through full cycle to ensure all radiators were receiving steam.
The customer ran out of oil. Found that the system needs to be cleaned and also the ignition transformer is weak. The customer only wanted the oil line bled at this time and no maintenance agreement. Bled oil line and tested the system.
Found steam boiler operating normal upon arrival. Supply was scorching hot but return was cool. Only 2 cast iron radiators are not producing heat. The rest of the radiators throughout home are hot. Spoke with Kurt and Kurt suggested doing a whole house radiator flush. Need to give pricing on flush.

Found oil filter leaking, looks like oil filter was replaced but no gaskets were installed so oil started leaking on ground, replaced oil filter and added gaskets, tested, system operational, no oil leaks
C/S Oil Boiler. Replaced oil filter, strainer and nozzle. Cleaned boiler. Tested all components. Performed combustion test. System installed last year no issues to report system is running normally.
Service for leaking water line in the bathroom. Arrived to the home to find water pouring out of the ceiling and the AC vent. It is the basement bathroom and the only plumbing above the area is an ice maker line. We have to cut open the ceiling to locate the leak so we know what’s leaking and what has to be repaired. After cutting open the ceiling we found that all the water lines in the home are ran through one bay of the floor joists. There is so many water lines that they strapped them close to the floor boards instead of strapping the water lines in the middle of the beam so they are safe from nails and screws. There is several nails stuck through one of the hot water lines and water is spraying everywhere. The nails were probably in the pipe from the time the house was built but after years of use and the pipes vibrating, the nails came loose and started leaking. Cleaned and serviced oil boiler. No issues to report.
Customer has a bad oil leak coming from boiler due to a bad oil pump seal, also customer had another company come out and they said power venter was no good, after customer told me this I attempted to fire up the boiler and found power venter not coming on but boiler still fired and ran shut unit off, found pressure switch tripped and cover full of water, also power venter control shorted out and burn marks on backside of cover, customer will need power venter motor, control unit, and pressure switch, also will need new oil pump as well due to bad seal, do not recommend running boiler I left power off to boiler.
C/S oil. Filter strainer and nozzle. Brushed and vacuumed. Combustion test. Boiler needs to be replaced. Boiler leaking from coil, coil is badly corroded and cannot be replaced, boiler from 1995. Customer will need to replace boiler, has comfort advisor coming out later today. System is running normally besides water leak from coil.
Service for clogged kitchen drain: Arrived to customers home. Customer says their kitchen drain is clogged. Evaluated and Gave price to snake kitchen drain Customer agreed and allowed me to proceed. Attempted to snake through drain twice, snake gets stuck on sanitary tee behind bathroom sink, where it ties in. Told the customer that I would have to cut a section of pipe behind bathroom sink and install a clean out to be able to unclog drain. Bathroom sink back ups into kitchen drain. Customer was unhappy with the estimate and did not want to proceed. Customer will speak to management tomorrow. Paid the balance for today with a card.
